The ship is sailing and only the powers of plot device can stop it.

Happy New Year forumites! Will Monday reveal what the silent watchful eyes think? Turn in next time! Same Gunner site, same Gunner time.

The surveillence device has green optical sensors like the Bots. Maybe it isn't the Court.

Netflix and chill. Kat needs to slow her roll when it comes to educating about culture.

Would other robots be jealous of Robot's new ability with intimacy? Would they be confused, by him being distracted from the cause? Or would they ship twice as hard as the forum? Hopefully, we'll find out next week.

*suddenly, a surprisingly romantic mathematics interlude!*

Those robots are going to be jealous when they find out about S13's tryst with a Court student. Or maybe this'll convince them that the organic components are a key to their desire to love and be loved by human beings -- which could get problematic if they fail to grasp the other nuances of a romantic relationship...

I do not believe those are necessarily Court eyes. If they had been watching, I feel like Shadow would have met some unfortunate fate or another by now.

Calling it right now: that robot sensor device was set up by The Court Robot from earlier - notice the same green hues on both robots, when compared to the blueish-purple hues of the other followers - and this is actually a set-up for the competing Robot faction of Gunnerkrigg Loyalists to come in and rat out Robot's cult to the Court. And soon, very soon, we'll have a Robot Civil War on our hands, with Loyalists and Fanatics fighting each other. An internal religious conflict? That would NEVER end in bloodshed! Other theory: Robot's CPU gets switched from another robot - perhaps a Seraph - when they think that Robot HIMSELF is becoming too attached to Shadow and not focusing on prophecy and the coming transformation of the Robot Cult. Then the false Robot gets the new body and transforms themselves into the Cult leader, while Robot has to find a way of convincing Annie and Kat that they've been duped by an usurper. One more thing: Happy New Year folks!

Happy new year, everyone And, oh god. How about 'Love makes you act in strange ways?' Maybe the others love S13. Or they see his love for Shadow... and... you know... do things that make him hate them? And 'it was worth it'?

It's very sweet and all, everybody loving somebody, kissing, blushing... but where is Annie? And Renard? And Coyooooote? I seriously wish this chapter to end to see what *happens* next.
Happy New Year to all!

Happy New Year to all! Coyote is in the Forest, Renard is with Annie but probably still under Kat's ownership, and Annie is repeating 9th year. Kat is still upset about it and Paz is helping her cope. It may take until the end of the school year to see if there is anyway for Annie to get back into the same class as Kat. Unless something extraordinary happens, Annie and Kat may not live together for three school years assuming students in upper and lower Sixth form live together. Like the characters we can't see how this going to play out. As readers we can take comfort in knowing that Tom says he has all the major story arcs planned out. He is not making this up as he goes along.

But anyway the robot you mentioned was called a "Court secret agent" by Tom in the Chapter 28 retrospective. For the moment my money is on the Court keeping an eye on this interesting new development. But S13's CPU is unique! It has the Prophesy Coprocessor. Noway Kat will not notice such a switch.

While I agree that these last few pages have been cute (and I'm glad to see my suspicions finally confirmed), does anyone else feel like it's being beat over the head more than the Kat-Paz relationship? Maybe because Paz's affection for Kat was less obvious until she sent the love letter, I dunno. I just get the sense that that was handled with much more finesse and to me this is sort of like, "HEY YOU GET THAT I'M TOTALLY SHIPPING THEM, RIGHT?"

I wonder if Robot remembers what it was like to have a wood arm.

Now every time I visit, I'm like 'oh, he's still playing with the countless unconventional romance arcs and no real action'. This robotic surveillance device (or whatever it is) seems promising, though. Well, we'll see tomorrow, I guess.

I've waited for it to finish. I mean cool, Robot has a new arm and makes whole new experiences. But did I really want to read so many pages about his inner feelings? I don't know. I do like Robot's character and story, but it doesn't interest me as much as other plotlines. I certainly prefer to work out the complex feelings of Annie, or to learn more about the Court's secrets, than to read Robot's sermons on pain. Oh, well. It's page 21. It should be over soon, now.

I see this chapter as being about Robot starting to learn what it means to be a person. Which can be interesting if well done... unfortunately, it isn't (imho and so far) all that well done. Freefall, for example, is dealing with a lot of the same stuff and doing it better - including not feeling as dragged-out, even though it's been a major theme for years.

Why is there rust on robot's face :3 Because love has this weird oxidizing affect on iron. That's why it steals the air from your lungs.
