I imagined that Shadow's going to be the one to stop this robot cult, so I hope this is evidence of that being able to happen.

I feel it's highly plausible this is obvious to everyone else but I'm slow so I'm applauding Tom for it anyways. At first, I was wondering whether Robot's "Oh" meant "Oh. That's how they cope. Love." or "Oh. I forgot about him. I'd better down play the cult activity." Then, I noticed the border was gone. It did slow fade in, when he hurt his hand. So, a point for Love then. Unfortunately, Love and its quasi-similar feelings can be the most dangerous of emotions. Just ask Jeanne. |

I feel that Robot's line about humans surely being in pain all the time is meant to be hyperbolic misunderstanding, but as someone with actual 24/7 chronic pain (thanks, arthritis) I chuckled a bit. Oh kid, if you become flesh and bone, it's all downhill from there.

Normally you would expect to see these thoughts in free-floating bubbles, like the narration we just saw. If it was the first time, that could hold some implications if you'd like to read into it that way.

AI-bio-robo thoughts rather than pure organic ones? Tom seems to be making a distinction; might have some interesting implications. |
