You give a robot an arm, and suddenly they're a poet.

16:4 And so the ecstatic disciple did climb skyscrapers, his new hand held to the sky as if to touch the sun. And thus, we knew sensation.

So how long before Robot gets an organic buddy to share these sensations with him?

Shadow is organic now, remember? Or at least three-dimensional.

Shadow is organic now, remember? Or at least three-dimensional. Yeah, I don't quite fully understand where Shadow stands in terms of being an unquestionably real and biological being. Real, yes. Biological? Well, he eats food and has three dimensions to him now, but... I mean, he WAS a Shadow... Speaking of, we haven't seen Shadow in quite a while now, right?

Rather psychedelic sounding. But in the GCverse, psychedelics may allow people to interact with the Ether to a limited extent, so...

I just sat down with my netbook in the Starbucks at the Galway bus station and read this, and as soon as I did, Boston's "More than a Feeling" came on the store music. Woooooooo......

This should be a perfectly smooth transition. Nothing bad could come of this.

Point brought up on /co/ - this isn't S13's first time having an organic arm. Same side, even. He didn't exactly make a big deal out of it back then, and seemed to have full control over it even before being possessed. Granted wood probably doesn't give much sensory input but it's not exactly robotic either.

The new biological arm is on his left. Few reasons why he didn't make a big deal of it back then: 1) Didn't see Kat, couldn't associate having a new arm with divine providence; 2) Arm was given to him by Ysengrin; but most importantly, 3) Even though the wood is indeed biological, the old wooden arm was merely seen as a replacement for the one that he didn't have in the first place; it didn't matter if it was made of rock or wood or any other form of material the Forest could provide, it only mattered that it replaced the arm he didn't have. Robot's new arm, however, is a replacement for his entire being; this arm is a representation of what is meant to replace the body that he currently has, to usher in a new form of existence.

I had been going to comment on how the new arm compares with the wooden one (I'd add that was given by Ysengrin long before Kat got to tinkering. Robot was known to have strange ideas before that, however.) Another thing to speculate on is the arm design. Is this a coincidence? (The Arrow first appeared in the same chapter that Robot started getting preachy. Also, may contain birds)

Somehow I get the feeling he isn't just going to show Shadow. But the shadow people as a whole, in turn, used to be biological. Probably. Maybe more ethereal than biological. Which leads me to wonder: have we ever explored whether or not Shadow can go/look/whatever into the Ether?

Another: the wooden arm was a dead stick. This arm is alive. I agree with calpal that the meaning is more important than the material. Also, Ysengrin's "gift" to S13 was not a dead stick. He dropped a seed into the empty socket, and it grew into a wooden arm.
