Maybe he will show it off to other robots as well.

It's always hard for moms to find time alone together with the kids growing up so fast.

I've thought, for a while, that 'pinky splinter' would make a pretty pernicious Munchkin curse card.

Robot, stop being so adorable! I know you'll be all creepy with your cult business in a few pages! >

Well, that didn't take long before he broke something, or he thinks he did anyway.

As much as I am quite tempted to switch my profile picture over to their reaction, I'm afraid I'm going to have to maintain the status quo. But you were very close, PazKat... very close...
As for Robot, this is going to be interesting to see whether Kat will have to build in some nerves into his body, to act as more limitations to his capacity to run and jump like other Court Robots have done before. And now I'm suddenly curious: I wonder if Reynard can see Robot's new thoughts in the Ether; the two haven't been together since Torn Sea, and with Robot's new data (*gasp*), I wonder if Reynard will actually be able to make sense of how Robot is feeling? After all, if Kat was able to form a new body in the Ether, maybe Reynard is a suitably powerful being that could help define what exactly it is Robot is experiencing within the Ether, maybe give shape and definition to that otherwise convoluted mess of organic meat and senses?

Kat has seemed a bit cold with Robot in this chapter. As if making a biological arm for a robot is something she's ticking off her list because she has something important to do later like buying a loaf of bread.
I'm glad Paz is being friendly at least
It just all seems so... "yeah okay, I performed a miracle, you can add that to your log because I'm busy. I have to go and take the bins out"

To her, this is both a pet project and doing something really nice for a friend; for the Robots, this is mythology in progress. And no one else but the robots seem to be aware of this.

It does seem central to her character that Kat thinks she is a normal girl. It keeps her relatable to the audience and allows her to have normal healthy relationships with other characters. It is also probably a setup for a big reveal in her story arc.

Robot is having trouble working the new equipment and programs. This is where everyone is in unknown territory. If Robot were a human amputee with a new arm he'd be in physical therapy being taught how to use new prosthetics. That therapy is based on a mountain of medical knowledge that has been built up over the last century of experimentation. If anyone has tried to do what Kat is doing she doesn't know about it. Robot is going to have to work through this by trial and error. Would human physical therapists be able to help Robot, maybe and maybe not. He probably should have someone with him on the test drive.

I think that Shadow may have some insight into the problems, since he used to just slide around in two dimensions, effectively, and was suddenly confronted with a physical body to operate in three dimensions.

The greatest bit I think is that there aren't any bones in that arm so he literally broke the whole finger

Well, that didn't take long before he broke something, or he thinks he did anyway. "46 Reasons My Three Year Old Might be Freaking Out"Referenced here, which tries to explain what's going in toddler brains. I wonder how much Robot's new neurology is going to affect his cognition emotional status.

I wonder how much Robot's new neurology is going to affect his cognition emotional status. Well, we all know what they say about the mind and the body...so, you think that because Kat's going to slowly put him, piece by piece, into what is basically a child's body, he'll become childlike himself? That would be fun to watch how all his cultists react to having a cyborg toddler prophet...Tom will probably make it even weirder, though, if the recent spread is any indication.

I keep thinking about whether Robot calling Annie, "Mommy" will ever be mentioned again. Did she ever explain why she wouldn't like to be called that besides the obvious reason off screen. Seeing Shadow again will cheer me up, I hope going to class hasn't affected his relationship with Robot.

Reminds me of Anja and Donald: www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=399Looking back at that page, I remember how much I loved the old art style. I'm certainly still in love with the current style Tom's got going on (because let's be honest who can dislike anything about Gunnerkrigg?*), but there's a refreshing simplicity in that era. The thick lines add such a fun cartoon-y touch. EDIT: I completely forgot about Kat's old crush on Eglamore! *Tom could post a picture of a literal pile of trash and we would eat it up.

So how many noodle incidents can be made out of a broken finger?
