In character forum comments from glorious godlike figures are canon, right? Right?! I am the living form of your beliefs, and I am born as you tell My tales of mighty deeds and speak of My clever mind! As glorious and magnificent as I am, though, I can barely be said to exist at all without the human mind, in fact! And why should a forum be any different than some story around some campfire, in a distant time and place? So, am I canon here? You tell me!

I think coyote has found new form observational humour.
I feel that coyote is sort of a jerk for laughing at Tony's emotional pain, but then taking away memories for entertainment, generally wrapping reality, keeping a seal of knives/teeth on "fire girl's" arm don't really point to a nice guy either. Hmmm actually tony has a point with the whole safety with coyote to some extent.
Although I hope that maybe tony or someone will start to piece together that the fire is separate from coyote statements.
Also why did Tony's mind have a jellyfish or octopoid in it?

Unlike the previous page, which was nothing but a crude attempt at dodging and intimidation, THIS response attacks the question asked by Anthony with razor-sharp precision.
Of course, this page's gambit still does a lot of serious dodging. Annie being loved by the Forest critters, while entirely true, still doesn't do a thing to answer the question of "what about your next temper tantrum?" ... especially when Coyote's last temper flare was directly linked to goading Ysengrin into rabid murder-attempts.
Even acknowledging that obvious dodge, however, Coyote's response here nonetheless provides accurate context: Coyote's unhinged temper is far from the only dire threat to Annie's well-being around these parts. One can reasonably argue that Coyote is the only true life-threat that the Forest has to offer to unified-Annie as she matures into her power (Ysengrin is Wood and Flesh, she is Fire). By contrast, the Court is filled with subtle life-threats nested within subtle life-threats nested within subtle life-threats, and they are already doing real harm.
Given all of that, Tony would be well advised to give a counter-offer: "releasing Antimøny intø the Førest's custødy will be cønsidered ØNLY IF the Lørd øf the Førest øffers cønvincing prømises that his periødic temper expløsiøns and schemes will nøt bring Antimøny tø harm"
After all, Coyote's playing hardball at this level only because Annie's presence matters so much to him ... so use that fact to play hardball in return and extract some meaningful concessions before agreeing to anything.

Can anyone make something meaningful out in Tony's mind? Or do you think it's all just abstract swirls? I think some of those swirls are supposed to be representations of the creatures that made Tony cut his hand off. One could also be Tony's battered face from when he went to talk to said creatures. The colours in the face swirl matches the ones used here.

Y'know, if this chapter does not result in a new forum tradition where we comment stuff with "Coyote laughed at this" (mebbe even "CʘYʘTE LAUGHED AT THIS") in a totally non-sequitur way, I shall be sorely disappointed.

Also why did Tony's mind have a jellyfish or octopoid in it? One of those symbols is a bear claw and the other might be a centipede, just a guess. These might be the critters he met on Walkabout in crazy land.

Tony has been so focused on his own pain and so worried over possible dangers to Annie rather than ones that have actually manifested themselves that he has been unable to see Annie's pain. There is more to it. Tony is very bad at understanding others even if he tries. But Coyote is getting the message through to him that Annie is in pain.

This gets into controversial territory (there's the whole "Coyote is no liar" quote and all the discussion that spawned) but how safe is Annie really in the forest? I guess the Ysengrin episode appears to have gone according to plan for Coyote, and he definitely seems powerful enough to have been able to prevent any harm to her even if Eglamore hadn't showed up. So in a way, it's possible that she was never in any real danger there. But as you say, there's always the matter of "what if Coyote's views of Annie change?" This also has a bearing on the value of his promises: are they psychologically binding on him? Did he ever promise to not interfere with the Court; I think I vaguely remember this but I can't find the related page.

I am truly surprised at the amount of color in the Broken Man's mind. I would have thought that Anthony's thoughts would be as grey as the clothing he is wearing. In some ways this humanizes Anthony just as much as the revelations of the last chapter.
Now there is a war waging inside my mind as Coyote's trick breaks into the real world!
