Okay...I LIKE this page's Coyote!
A perceptive fellow, he is! His godly nose cannot be fooled by mere physical appearances. He's rolling over on his back pleading in that last panel, I think... For some reason, that last panel is so adorable.

It's OK, Coyote. She had her reasons.

His nose has been firmly dipped in the Ether(ic) in that last, er... frame. I doubt this piece of Annie will be offering spankies.

That's a neat rendering of short-hair Annie. Poor Coyote! So bereft!

Oh wow, so we ARE seeing events from Coyote's perspective, and rather momentous things at that.
I'm trying to imagine the scene's he's recounting here in the usual style, and it's honestly very strange to have scenes that would certainly have taken weeks to progress fly by in Coyote's frantic way.

I wonder if Coyote can see Annie's Fire if other people cannot

Interesting, yet oddly fitting, how Jones is just blank. No symbol at all.

Love everything about this chapter's style. Very abstract, but you can easily tell who's who and what's up with them. Very nice. Speaking of very nice; Daedalus: Awesome avatar

I give thanks for the change in pace. It's giving me whiplash from the previous chapter...but in a good way. So, in that first panel, we have Jones, Jimmy-Jims, and...a rock marked with the Court symbol? What could that represent? I want to speculate it might be the real Seed Bismuth...but...why would it be in the room? Coyote also looks hilarious in that first panel. But he has a greater consistency of form in this chapter than in previous, normal-style ones. Does this mean Coyote always see himself as the same, and his form shifts subconsciously? He certainly changes art style more when he's excited. Speaking of very nice; Daedalus: Awesome avatar Thank you kindly

Also: what would the consequences be of Coyote announcing Annie's split from her fire in front of the Court? Would they study her for the possibilities?

I see Jones, the Headmaster, and Eglamore in the drawing. I don't know if he can see the elemental split off or not, he is going to be very angry I think.

The Bismuth-marked "lump" was Andrew, I thought, the Court medium. The blocky rectangles represent the heads of other people in the crowd. But I LOVE LOVE LOVE the histrionic Coyote (both versions) at the bottom of the page, and the comically aghast Coyote looking at Annie the first time. Also amazing how he still sees her in the Forest costume, but the change he actually sees first is YOU CUT YOUR HAIR underlined like six times. Do you think Annie will come under suspicion of being some sort of impostor due to Coyote's dramatics?

I assumed the bismuth lump was just the court in general rather than a person, although it would seem to fit the headmaster if anybody. The Jones and Eglamore figures look relatively like the people, and if the head was to be a rock he would be a lump...
Also is Coyote going to blame the court? going to blame Annie herself? Will annie try to explain?
I think this will be a short chapter, and set things up for a confrontation and (hopefully) reunion of Annie's two halves in the next one.

Looks like the usual beige-ish(?) top and green skirt that make up the Court uniforms to me.

Also possibly worth noting is the thick white line going off-panel, that starts at Annie.
Etheric link to Fire, maybe?

There's little in the verse more gray, ashen, and immobile than Headmaster Jonathan Llanwellyn (sp?) at a formal meeting with the Forest.

It is quite the blur. From Coyote's perspective (and Renard's, and Ysengrin's), the Court wasn't founded all that long ago. Any given year is pretty fast, nearly everything the Court does can be dismissed as "whatever", various people come and go and who can keep track of them all (the Protector doesn't have to always be Eglamore, the Headmaster Lump doesn't have to always be Llanwellyn), and so we just blip along to Coyote's various emotional high points and low points.

Note that Annie is significant enough for Coyote to take time to notice her absence - she is of no small importance to him. Whether being the focus of Coyote's attention is a good or bad thing, however, is open to debate... Remember, Coyote doesn't actively lie, per se. He really does consider Annie his friend, if these few pages are actually from his perspective. But that doesn't mean his definition of friendship remotely resembles our definition of the term, nor does it mean she will still be his friend if she later slights him one time too many.

Yes! A goodly pace without losing substance and with gorgeous art. Helmet head Annie is perfect (a perfect depiction of how Annie is now). Coyote's eyes left their sockets there in the middle panel. I am not sure Eglamore or anyone else knew she had cut herself. Things might get too hot for her again. Go Tom! Go!
P.S. Where is Anthony in all this? (no i did not miss him, just asking)

I thought Coyote would immediately realize that something was wrong with Annie. Will she explain what she has done to herself? I think she will because this part of her does not realize that what she has done is wrong.

P.S. Where is Anthony in all this? (no i did not miss him, just asking) He's not a Lord of the Court, so no reason for him to be present. He's just a teacher in the bio department ... so probably grading homework, writing up lesson plans, or secretly working on an Omega Project. As one does. (At most, he might be one of the anonymous gray rectangle heads behind the Big Three in the formal meeting room. Even if present, he doesn't yet rate notice on Coyote's ADHD stream of consciousness.)

Oh, that will be interesting. No one at the Court had realised what Annie has done. I wonder how they will all react, once they find out that "their" Annie was in fact hiding up the ceiling all this time.

When the flame in the eyes of my friend is smothered, what is she?
Fire-Head Girl? No, no, the name no longer fits her! More like Ash-Heart Girl.
Her daddy is lucky he isn't here to face my wrath. After all, he took away my favorite human playtoy! And for what? Because a bunch of blowhards pushed his buttons and manipulated his grief???
BAH!!
He'd have become the first human in a long while to "become bones", as my chronicler puts it. Being so dried up and heartless inside, he didn't need his skin anyway!

My takeaway from this page is how done with being a medium Antimony is in the eyes of the Court at this point in the story. "When they brought her to him" suggests to me a time-lapse that means they didn't just bring her out from the sidelines but they had to go get her. If she saw the signal from the Wood she didn't come to the greeting hall and nobody went looking for her to ask why. That, and the last depiction of Coyote looks like a loo... a very dangerous loo. Those are my takeaways from this comic. Interesting, yet oddly fitting, how Jones is just blank. No symbol at all. I guess we can reasonably assume the gray (slouching?) lump of Bismuth is the Headmaster? Either he's seated or Jonathan's really let himself go.
