My thread's post: Time Stamp: 1:59:55 Conclusion: Nepycros is a time traveller. howwwwwwwwwww?Never underestimate the power of furious F5 action. But...but...but... I too was furiously F5ing. And the page literally comes out 5 seconds AFTER your thread was made. Stop violating the space-time continuum! Heh.

I wonder how Annie's hair got so disheveled...
Fire Elemental shenanigans which we shall never witness?

Stop violating the space-time continuum! Heh. Just so folks don't get the wrong idea: No, I didn't preemptively make a thread and edit it after the page was released. Even I have some standards, and the little race for who gets the comic discussion thread started off is an honorable venture.

I did that once - I made the thread five minutes before the page actually was released. GK shut me down HARD for it. Which I deserved, heh.

Well. That was dark.
It looks like the robot did notice the room filled with flames but just couldn't be bothered.

I wonder how Annie's hair got so disheveled... Fire Elemental shenanigans which we shall never witness? I'm guessing her attempt to cut her own hair wasn't quite as smooth as we were shown.

I had assumed this took place chronologically after the previous page, but there's no indication either way...

I love this honourable race to the first thread. I never participate, but I love it.
And, comic: "Thanks for reading this comic about a girl getting her hair cut."
End of 'Red Returns': "Thank you for reading this chapter about girls getting haircuts."
And now heartwarming and funny has been turned into tragic. And also funny. It's confusing, and I don't know if I like it, but it is powerful storytelling.

Did she have time to cut her hair, run down to the barber, clean up the horrid cut, and get back by the time Kat made it in to see her in a state of total stoicism?

No edit stamp visible in the OP. There have been hiccups in the automation before, entirely possible it went up a few seconds early or something. I wonder how Annie's hair got so disheveled... Fire Elemental shenanigans which we shall never witness? This doesn't really look like the face of someone caring about what it ends up looking like.

Another panel for the inevitable "Annie Fun Time" works just as well.

Tony Fun Time would just be panels upon panels of him writing on a blackboard, correcting papers, sitting staring into the middle distance...followed by a shot of Drunk!Tony slumped out of his chair and passed out on the floor. Possibly with Renard pouring a glass of water on Tony's crotch and smirking.

Stop violating the space-time continuum! Heh. You're not reloading HARD enough (Ctrl+F5 to forcibly flush the cache). I'm sure Tom's site will appreciate the extra hammering. </sarcasm>Though maybe you're hitting a caching proxy somewhere on the way - then this won't help.

Did she have time to cut her hair, run down to the barber, clean up the horrid cut, and get back by the time Kat made it in to see her in a state of total stoicism? Kat had to wait till the end of classes to go back to the dorms (we were told they were quite deep in the Court). So Annie had the entire day to discuss the details of her new life in white rooms with her dad, have an emotional break down, cut her hair, order Renard to shut up, go to the hairdresser, then come back and start packing. I also assume that this took place directly after the flashback scissors scene. I did wonder about Annie's straight hair cut before. It's nearly impossible to do your own haircut and not look like a mess, especially if you're being angry at your hair rather than trying to cut a straight line.

At last, a page that gets us back to the core values of Gunnerkrigg Court: haircuts! Mind you, looking back, I think the flambe effect would go well inserted between the last two panels of this page.

I'm just imagining the monty python flying circus or the muppet show theme playing over this. For this week's gag panel I'm somehow reminded of an incident involving a Nibelheim or some sort.

Today's page reminds me I need a haircut (and some new red highlights as the old ones have faded). Other than that... I do hope we are going to see some blessed moving forward on Friday. A person can take so much soul destroying sadness, you know? [Long rant over self harm and sadness and stuff deleted as I refuse to get into the frame of mind again]

I too fell under the initial assumption that this was her immediately after cutting her hair. But it's definitely hard to say.

I'm pretty sure this is Annie right after the initial haircut.
At first I thought the third panel was Anne's ether view, but even the hairbot noticed the fire. "Getting the hang of it" indeed!
I guess Spontaneous Combustion Annie was a thing before that was concentrated into Fire Annie, haha.

Yeah, the robot totally saw that. I wonder if it was her way of saying, "No, I don't want to do small talk." But then, she says it was wonderful. It's a bit mixed, message-wise. Clearly she is upset, but maybe this is a part of her torn-nature at the moment. If the flame-her made that, perhaps Annie is losing control of her powers?

The page's title is "getting the hang of it", so maybe it's just that. I'd guess Annie was trying to sound "normal", but somehow slipped a bit, and for a second the burning hell she was trying to hide under the carpet showed a bit. Awkward.
