You were faster than me And there goes the blinker stone. I was almost worried I'd not make it. At the exact moment when the page would update, my computer was taking forever to refresh.

Well, that's an interesting use for the blinker stone. I'd like a 'Beginner's Guide to Blinker Stones' for the bonus page.

So what role does the stone play now? Is it a means for Annie to keep an eye on the Fire while she's away by binding the stone to the Fire or the Fire to the stone?

Well, I imagine that the cutting of her hair wouldn't have actually had any impact without the blinker stone there. I'd assume that she bound the Fire to the stone.

Its the medium she used to separate them in the first place. Probly can't use it at all anymore unless she wants to deal with the emotions she's ignoring because she can't handle them.

I guess it depends partly on how we are to take Tom's use of Quarantine, here.

Heat-sink reinvented. I wonder if Zeta could stabilize herself with a blinker stone in likewise manner. And that'd be a nifty spider ghost-dealy to see illustrated as a full-page spread.

Maybe we'll get to see how Annie and MS Fire get along.

Blinker stone is a beginner's tool and Zimmy's powers can affect several square miles. Blinker stone would help zimmy as much as lead underwear would save you from a nuke

... ok... I am completely lost. and feel rather slow. Could someone explain? What I see is her cutting the elemental and embedding the blinker stone in its body. This Annie reminds me of Hattie (sp?) the little doll Rey burned.

Yeah, I'm still not sure how this happened. The best I can figure is that she went into the ether with her blinker stone and cut her hair there, maybe?

No visual demonstration of how it was actually done? *sigh* Fine. Didn't want to see Renard in distress anyway.
Hard to interpret Fire Annie's reaction to this memory. Numb? Stewing? Resignation? Also was there a time skip and she went back up to the ceiling, or did she become invisible as Body Annie approached the door?

This Annie reminds me of Hattie (sp?) the little doll Rey burned. Annie can't deal so she's used the blinker stone to amputate her negative emotions using the stone as a physical totem. Like moving a computer file to a thumb drive

I'd say the blinker stone is acting as a bridge and focus for Anniemental while she's cut off from Annie proper.
...although it's debatable which one of the two needs sustaining more!

Well, wenn Annie goes etheral she can use her blinker stone as an anchor, yes? She can leave it somewhere or throw it away and visit that place. That'S what she'd doing now, she's leaving the part of herself she doesn't want to deal with anchored on the blinker stone so as to keep it separate.
I don't think that separation is permanent. I think the scene with Kat back in chapter 51 was her concentrating to keep her "anger demon" from coming back.

The rest seems to be Anniemental stewing on it until Annie walked back in just now.

madragoran it appears she is using the blinker stone as a container for the elemental (and her emotions). That is, she embedded the elemental in the blinker stone. The stone is physically at the heart of the elemental, probably as a metaphor for the core/center/essence.

I guessed that the part of her that was separated off was centered around the blinker stone. This confirms that guess.

Blinker stone is a beginner's tool and Zimmy's powers can affect several square miles. Blinker stone would help zimmy as much as lead underwear would save you from a nuke Blinker stones work as a lens, not a circuit, though. If I recall Antimony's meditation exercise her wingspan was maybe a hundred meters tops. Zeta's area around the Love Boat was much bigger (ten thousand square meters?) so a 3am WAG would be Zeta is at least three times as powerful as Antimony in output. But how much of that would she need to bleed off to get herself under control?

Blinker stone would help zimmy as much as lead underwear would save you from a nuke a lead lined bunker under water actually would probably save you from a nuke. the important thing is distance to ground zero and what barriers interrupt line of sight.

Is she dying in the same way she would be if she had a child? Probably the blinker stone is keeping her and the fire linked so no... but there could be ill health consequences anyway if she kept this up for years and years. The situation is a lot more sustainable than I thought it was, though.

Is she dying in the same way she would be if she had a child? Can't be healthy. Interesting that the elemental now seems calm.(slightly wild spec: she is going to confront Annie next page)

Hard to interpret Fire Annie's reaction to this memory. Numb? Stewing? Resignation? Shock? Slicing off a part of yourself, however non-physical, is definitely going to bring about a momentary blackout. I'm guessing this was intended to be a temporary solution, seeing as she said "I can't deal with you right now." She's maybe giving herself a sort of time out until she's brought the situation to a point where it won't trigger her stronger emotions so much. Hopefully the side effects of this won't be bad, though. I wish she would trust someone else with this. At least for safety's sake.

This whole situation reminds me of a homunculus, or a golem. Only instead of the body being animated by the blinker stone, the elemental appears to use it as a medium to manifest in the first place.
Since it was born out of feelings of anger and hatred, does that mean its the only thing its capable of expressing? It seems a little too early to tell. The fact that it stays in the room and doesn't try to escape seems to imply that its either fully capable of reason, or its bound to Annie's commands via the blinker stone, either because of the stones functions or because its bound to something akin to a contract of ownership like Renard and his plush body.

Ahahaha, I laughed off the few remarks on horcruxes the last few pages, but this... seems familiar. "Yeah, let's give my negative emotions a physical anchor to the world, that will help" Oh Annie.
I have to wait a few pages, before I develop an opinion about this Blinkerstone business. No idea what this will mean ^^"
