Congrats to those who called it. Not sure what is happening yet but it seems she has a plan, and has been working on it for quite a while. This certainly adds more meaning to the "please ask [Coyote and Ysengrin] to be patient" remark.

I'm half-expecting her to cross her fingers and say "just as planned..." right now.

Yay! Now Annie can have Renard's baby without dying young!
...Well, she could.

Yay! Now Annie can have Renard's baby without dying young! ...Well, she could. I'm not entirely sure WHAT this means. Does this imply that the Fire is now a semi-separate entity? There's so many questions, as, I'm pretty sure this is the first time we've seen the Fire like this. TOM YOUR FORUMS ARE GOING TO BE ON FIRE.

Now this could be either awesome or horrifying, because it sort of implies that if the events of Divine were Tony trying to neutralize or remove the fire elemental from Annie, this means he might have come back, tried again, and succeeded. And look at her hair! Whatever happened changed the appearance of the fire elemental itself!

I suppose this proves Annie wasn't fibbing when she told everyone Tony didn't make her cut her hair. And explains why she did it. (I'm theorizing that she needed to chop off her etheric fire-form self through a little barber barbarism.)

I knew it would be this. Looks like people were right, he was trying to separate her from her fire. We just didn't know he has already done it. This also answers what separating her from her hair did.

Holy crap, that is even stranger than even before. So... has Annie mastered her inner elemental? Can she separate it out of herself? Could she keep it contained while she raises her daughter and then choose to pass it on when she is old? Or will she be unable to have children until she chooses to pass the elemental on? Yay! Now Annie can have Renard's baby without dying young! ...Well, she could. ... I don't even want to think about the questions your statement raises, Refugee

Wait, wasn't there a chapter page showing Annie lying on the floor with her hair cut like that? Just before Sneak started
And this does seem to confirm Annie didn't at the very least JUST cut her hair to please her father.

I find myself much less overjoyed than everyone else here... I uh... Don't think that's supposed to be outside your body, Annie. Or looking like that. In fact, you being able to see it in any sense is probably a bad thing.

Annie's all like "ALL ACCORDING TO KEIKAKU." Didn't call it publicly, but this was the thing I thought most likely. And judging by the posture, facial expression and the ALL-DEVOURING INFERNO of the fire elemental, I highly doubt your other side thinks so, Annie.
So she IS angry at Anthony, but had to displace the uncontrollable fury, I guess? Either way - bravo, Tom.

I mean, talk about taking one for the team. "Lie back and think of...the Court." Anyway, the new hair craze sweeping...uh, the floor? [Oops, ninja'd by Chancellor. Thanks.] Pay me no mind. I'm obviously more than a little giddy. Annie a victim. I snort.

Some thought: maybe the elemental. And some thought: maybe the hair.
Looks like both were right.
(Didn't expect the cut, but it makes sense.)

If nothing else, the fact that the thinks things 'went well' means she's measuring wellness on a whole different metric than anyone else. I don't know man, I'm almost getting the vibe of an anorexic looking in the mirror and being happy at how many ribs s/he can count.
