So just stating a transferral of ownership was enough to get the symbol of the creator on his forehead?
Must be mag-, er, etheric science at play here.

Finally, some evidence of non-complete submission, and flat out lying to her father a few pages ago! Well done Annie, I gave you less credit than you deserved!

Kat's lab isn't in her house either.

Evil villains always leave their plans sitting around their vile lairs! It's in their union agreements! The problem is everyone is assuming some sort of subtlety or secrecy on Anthony's part, so they're simply not going to think to look in the true hiding spot; the refrigerator, of course! So the villainous villain can cackle congratutorally over the dastardly quality of his plans and enjoy a cool beverage.

Also: Not in a rush to experiment on Renard is a check in the "doesn't have patience for things etheric" column and nothing but Antimony's schoolwork here is/would be a check in the "came back to fix Antimony's wagon" column. Finally, some evidence of non-complete submission, and flat out lying to her father a few pages ago! Or of not running on all wheels, if Kat tricked her. I'll guess she gave the toy to Kat before giving Renard to her dad thus making everybody happy.

It seems I underestimated Antimony again. Actually, I'm starting to think that Anthony isn't even the primary reason for her recent behavior. She'd been abusing the trust of her closest friend for years before he showed up, apparently because she was too proud to admit that she needed help. It seems quite plausible that she would try to atone for that.

So yeah, it really is Kat who now owns Renard! Looks like Annie was persuaded to do the transfer in the carriage on the way over to her new quarters (I refuse to call that place a house or a room). Bravo Annie, you have a lot of guts defying Anthony like that. Seems her rebellious fire isn't entirely out yet.
My guess on Renard's new form is that it's a "sneaky" form - it lets him get into the mindset of the wolf form, but retains a small size so he doesn't disturb things in a way which might make Anthony suspicious.

Well I'll be... I didn't see that coming. Good to know that Annie isn't just slavishly obedient to her father after all.

Yay for Annie and Kat! It's really nice to have confirmation on the matter of owndership. And Anthony continues to come off as weird. I wonder what he's been trying to tell Rey to do?

Watch out with that line of thinking, Kat. Just because he's a horrible person doesn't automatically mean he's singlehandedly conducting a conspiracy.

I knew it! She would never betray Reynardine! You rock Annie!
Now if only we knew what Anthony is up to... If his house is empty, why not have his daughter staying with him?

For one, it seems to be some policy of the court that students live by themselves, since Kat doesn't live at home either. Judging by Renards comments, it also seems he enjoys solitude. If he is even capable of enjoying anything. I'm kind of starting to feel sorry for him for how subdued he is. But I guess we'll know for sure after dinner with the Donlans.

A page full of exposition, yet so much is still unanswered.
Given Reynard's statement that the house is empty, the only other thing they may learn here is the location of Anthony's house if they didn't already know. Smitty is looking out the window in panel 5 and my guess is that he will say that Anthony is coming, this window faces something significant, or both (Anthony is coming and this window faces Annie's isolation room).
Not hard to guess that the chapter will end with Anthony sitting in his brooding chair, probably with we the readers having no confirmation on what he is doing. Sit readers, at your computers, and brood in solitude with Anthony.

Also, now that Smitty and Parley are now over by the window and looking at the chair, I guess this means there is no-one sitting in that chair at the moment, so we can leave out that theory at least. Unless they are invisible anyway.

Looks like my tongue in cheek "Anthony is an evil robot" theory has new credence. I've got it! He's come back to steal Jones away from Eglamore! Now that Surma's out of the way, he feels the need for a new research subj... I mean partner.

well that throws out a lot of my theory. so is he staying as a wolf pup because he is sitting on a desk? or because Kat thinks he looks cute?
maybe Anthony only came back to force Annie through 2 years of school work and stop her from cheating so she can rejoin Kat and her class during the next year? maybe he has only isolated Annie to allow her to study. and what has Anthony been asking Renard to do? if not weird experiments then what is his plan for Renard? or is it just to ensure one less distraction to Annie?
or maybe Anthony can't do his research any more the loss of his right hand may have seriously handicapped him will Kat make Anthony a new Prosthetic hand? At dinner will they finally find out why Anthony is here?

Is the house quite literally empty besides the chair and desk? And maybe a table and chair in the kitchen unless he likes eating standing up.

Is the house quite literally empty besides the chair and desk? And maybe a table and chair in the kitchen unless he likes eating standing up. pretty sure Renard is meaning no personal effects or objects of personal meaning one arm chair to look out the window a single desk for Renard and school work perhaps a bed, unless he sleeps in the arm chair, and a kitchen stool to eat at the counter unless he eats standing, or again sits in the arm chair. I myself have no kitchen chairs I eat at my desk so a lack of furniture by Anthony isn't too weird though a lack of persoanl items is weird. Jones has more belongings than Anthony has.

That dinner will be interesting meal. Annie's inability to ask for help could be a shared trait, between her and her father. A part of his motivation could be a bit of transference. Trying to exorcise a "flaw" in Annie that they share, but a "flaw" that's hampering him in doing just that. Anthony may not know what to do with a daughter, and feels lost, similar to Annie's previous views on homework. I bet we're all looking forward to a heart-to-heart with Mr Donlan. I hope we'll be able to eavesdrop. Though, the people who really should have a heart-to-heart is Tony and Annie, and the most interesting(story-wise) one-on-one talk would be between Tony and Kat. Thank goodness Rey's okay, and Annie had his back. Cheating aside, he seems to want to get rid of Annie's elemental side. Tony may be wondering, if Rey could possess only that side of her, and then leave.

Evil villains always leave their plans sitting around their vile lairs! It's in their union agreements! Ah, but that assumes they know The Rules. See Terry Pratchett's The Last Hero well that throws out a lot of my theory. so is he staying as a wolf pup because he is sitting on a desk? or because Kat thinks he looks cute? Well, we already saw back in the Mort's departure chapter, when dealing with the supernatural, Kat does not always see what everyone else is seeing -- presumably because of her more rational/technological alignment. So perhaps either A) This is how Kat normally sees Reynard or B) it's because she's the owner, his default appearance is now a 'more realistic' look to conform with her view of reality.
