Oh dear, there go my stranglin' fingers getting all twitchy again--and he hasn't even said a word yet.
Acceptable outcome:
He's taking the time to personally tutor/spend time out of class with her and now that the jet lag has worn off, he is far less caustic.

Doesn't help them a bit, though it can be quite fetching. I usually play along for a few moments, just to get their guard down.
Architecture conundrum: Resolved! I'd still like to know where the head is, though I'm, ahem, relieved that Annie is not in an actual cell. This is just a big, long hall with bad lighting and, I expect, a difficult to manage HVAC problem.
Ahem.
Kat knew that Anthony was coming. She's more informed than we were. Perhaps she was invited to this meeting via the radio? Will she just refuse to leave now, and sit on the bed as chaperone?
Did Anthony know she would be here?
In any event, Kat, you have got to listen to Annie. Please hear her out. Making excuses or not, she needs to have a friend she can talk to without being scolded every sentence.
And where oh where has our puppy dog gone? Oh where, oh where can he be?
As tense as the situation is, I believe we're about to learn a great deal. Probably sometime before July, I'm sure.

It might, however, have an effect on Annie having contact with Kat. Anyway, I'm relieved to see that Mr. Carver is visiting his daughter and checking up on her homework. I was worried that he'd give out his orders and arrangements to Annie and have no contact with her after that. Also, could that room be an old laboratory of Mr. Carver? |

Why would Kat be there if it was about Renard? To me it looks like he's coming to check on her homework. Also, I think Kat is too clever to give him a reason to ban her. She thinks there is more going on than meets the eye and she knows better than to charge head on without gathering ammunition first.

They talked (over the radio) and Annie told Kat that she would give her father Renard just about now, and Kat said 'I'm comin' over' 3. Kat knew Anthony was occupied (biology class), and skipped class to get Annie for herself, but that isn't likely because then she would know when he'd come. AND, YES, KAT, THAT IS FISHY. PLEASE INVESTIGATE JUST ABOUT NOW. |

Speak of the Anthony and he doth appear  And indeed Kat - this is so fishy I'm half expecting Tony to pull of a mask revealing a Tuna beneath at any moment. Annie's smile makes me sad. Reminds me of her smile while she was waiting to speak to Anthony after class last chapter. So hopeful for... well, anything. I hope Anthony surprises me and gives Annie a reason to keep that smile this time*, but I worry he's wont. *Though I know that'd be counterproductive to getting her to stand up to him. |

Now that you mention it, the object with the papers does seem to be a much darker colour than either side of the card. False alarm, I guess. Edit: Its also a different colour to the envelope, too. |

He will comment negatively on the one error in Annie's school work and not say a thing about the rest of the homework that is perfect. And then he will declare the visitation over because Annie has to redo her school work. |
