Annie, I am proud.Acknowledging these emotions is the first step to healing. At least partly, the real Annie is back in the last few panels. Another reveal Wednesday?

Panel six is the mask we all know and love.
Man, those bony fingers are sharp.

Holy crap I think I was right about the mind control.
Notice that her hair gets messy and frayed like it did when she was talking to Tony.

You know how sometimes you just want to go to sleep, but you know a new page will be up in nine minutes?
And then it's something like this?
And that tired feeling is replaced with sadness?
That's where I'm at right now.

Holy crap I think I was right about the mind control. That's grown a lot more credible as of this update. But suddenly I'm beginning to warm up a bit to the idea that a lot of what was going on from Zimmy's perspective in Divine could have been metaphorical, rather than literal. As in the bones may not actually have literally been Anthony's direct doing, and could have been some representation of Annie's conflicted pain regarding her father, once again popping up here to cause her pain.

It's literal to at least some degree, because whatever happened in that ambiguous chapter, Anthony seems to really have been punched in the face, and it was real enough to put Annie into a coma. And that tired feeling is replaced with sadness? I dunno, I flipped out much harder with Friday's page. This one seems pretty happy in comparison to most other pages this chapter. Please tell me this puts the last nail in the coffin of the argument that Annie was acting this way because she sees how Tony is totally right?

Wow, Scary. It looked like she knew Kat was right and was about to give in, but ... were those the bonelasers? Suddenly she was overcome by something, and back to emotionless mind-slave Annie who must obey Father no matter what.

God DAMN you, ambiguity. Daedalus: Apparently, it was easier to just say yes than to have to emotionally deal with what was happening. Can't blame her.

I keep coming back to this page in Stone. Talk about "all the horrors of mankind." I wonder if impartial Jones knew what changes were in store.

I find watch Annie struggle to push down her emotions and label them as foolish to be quite sad. She might acknowledge her feelings, but she's not accepting them which just adds to the pain that she's in.

Next page : "KAT THIS ISN'T ME" and/or skip to Tony's Moon Base where he shoots bone lasers with that Hand we didn't see. Or maybe not (dang, fiction with magic, you never know when it's just magic or metaphor or what), but this is very scary anyway.

To me this was the most horrifying of all of them. I'm inclined to believe those are in fact the bone lasers from Divine and Antimony is severely emotionally and psychologically compromised, if not controlled, right now. This is unsettling. It's like chapter one Antimony is slowly suffocating recent-chapter Annie to death and Annie just got free and gasped for air before the pillow came back down on her face.

I see what you're saying, though I interpret it differently. Depends on Wednesday's page, I suppose. It's literal to at least some degree, because whatever happened in that ambiguous chapter, Anthony seems to really have been punched in the face, and it was real enough to put Annie into a coma. She might acknowledge her feelings, but she's not accepting them which just adds to the pain that she's in. Oh, it's awful and horribly sad! But she at least sees the feelings, which is an improvement over Robot!Annie, and it's better than seeing the nightmare fuel of how she trapped Rey in his own body. Plus this is the first page in a while without further kicks to our collective guts. So, it's a lower level of terrible than other recent pages. To me, at least.

Please tell me this puts the last nail in the coffin of the argument that Annie was acting this way because she sees how Tony is totally right? I wasn't too clearly expressing what I meant here. I still firmly think Anthony was doing SOMETHING to Annie in divine, but as to whether there were actually bonelasers being shot down from space, or if that's how Annie was somehow interpreting whatever was happening and gave it a etheric form for Zimmy to see, I'm not sure. And thus it's possible that she did indeed subconsciously feel that her father was doing something, and now her emotional conflict is manifesting his longer term subjugation as those same representations, the bones. Even now that there's no active fuckery on Anthony's part.

DaedalusAssuming of course, those are in fact the bones, and not just Annie struggling to dissociate into the stratosphere again.

I think we need a grownup here. Like stat. This reminds me very much of a book by Terry Pratchett with Tiffany Aching and the Hiver. The Annie we know has retreated to a corner of her "mind" and is looking out. My worry is that there is no grown up who loves Annie enough to fight for her. Oh the Donlans are very nice and kind people but fighting for Annie? Going against Anthony? I do not see that happening. As for Eglamore he might in principle defend her from visible threats but fight over the right to be her guardian? Nope. I mean anyone fighting for Annie now will be fighting to take her away from Anthony. Want to adopt a 14 year old?

I admire Kat's resolve in not backing away inadvertently, and only looking perplexed.
Also - whatever* it is that has a grip on Annie is strong, but not invulnerable it seems. Load your Photon Torpedos of Caring Captain Kat, and make ready for another pass.
*Hypnotoad, Anthony, Annie's own shaken psyche, some new parasite Zimmy might have unwittingly left Anthony with when she punched him...

Does anyone else hear the silent *scritch* after each 'I have to...'?
Battling on, perhaps, but there is one damaged and bruised personality behind that mask.
Given the fuss that accompanied a mere phone call from her Father, I find the current silence from the other adults rather odd. Explanations are in order.
