The Last Halloween made a Courage the Cowardly Dog reference. I was distracted.

The male character on this page is Andrew Smith, not Eglamore. Eglamore does not make an appearance on this page.
..which is kinda strange actually, you'd think this business would be more official than that.
Did Annie just go to the forest alone and there weren't any alarms or anything?

There will certainly be at least one conclusion (soul transfer). And I can't help but notice that Smitty is drawn more maturely now. Neat aging detail! Also I plan on making a board once a month only. :3 Edit: Did Annie just go to the forest alone and there weren't any alarms or anything? She probably asked permission earlier. But that's just my boring thought. :/

Am I the only one who feels like Annie got a haircut? Compare this page to this one, particularly the side profiles. The ones in the current page aren't as detailed, but you can still clearly see the distance between where her hair ends and her hips are. I guess it could just be the art, but it really stuck out to me

Today's page neatly illustrates that the grass is, indeed, greener on the other side (from the Court point of view at least).

Eglamore does not make an appearance on this page. ..which is kinda strange actually, you'd think this business would be more official than that. There are GW medium and GC medium. Jow much more official would you expect it to be? Until there's time to greet the new arrival, anyway.

Oh crap, Smitty is more mature looking. This is the point where I realize that Tom is really aging his characters and that the childlike caricatures of the first few chapters are gone forever. The Saddest Face!

I'm guessing that we're just about to get one, actually. Annie was holding the jackalope's life in her hand in the last page. It makes sense that she has to go to the Court side to put it in a new body. This chapter isn't over yet... Did Annie just go to the forest alone and there weren't any alarms or anything? Well, it's her official job now to go back and forth between the two places. There's longer any need for all that ceremony, that's my guess.

Though I wonder if Smitty knows that the rabbit thing is happening now, since this seems like the kind of stuff that would weird him out. Now that I think about it, it's a heck of a callback. Eggers escorted across the bridge for Catalyst (the only forest visit since then), but then again Parley and Smits were there too..

Yeah, I get the feeling Annie isn't the type to (intentionally) surprise her friends with "Oh, by the way we're transferring the Jackalope today!".

No Eggers on escort duty because a) Court has officially withdrawn protection for Annie, b) while still available at need, he's been gradually pulling back (He didn't attend the introduction ceremony for Smitty, either. Maybe he doesn't like parties? Jones attended as she was the former Medium and is, of course, the total party animal), and c) flambe Annie isn't exactly helpless these days.
As Court Medium I would imagine it would be Smitty's duty to receive JackO's essence from Annie for final transfer... Oooh! A thought! Is *this* what the Tesla act with the power house is all about? (Cue image of a windswept Llewellyn lit by jagged lightnings and standing over a wired up body yelling 'More power, Rudy! I must have more power!')

I think it's Tom trying to show that Annie's hair is trailing behind her.

The Saddest Face! Growth is nothing to be saddened about. Although the wonderment one has when they were young may be gone, one can still have wonderment in maturity, if they so choose to do so. Innocence may have left, but hope still stays, and dreams yet fill our hearts. And now that one grows to maturity, the world grows closer into your grasps, and the future ever closer still. The time of life draws nearer by the day, and so we live more, until we are capable of realising our dreams.

I hate wearing shoes, and have pretty thick soles. I'll carefully walk in a meadow or on snow, but I don't go around the woods barefoot. Twigs are nature's Legos. Perhaps, the Forest denizens use them for something. I doubt the Forest has a Landscape Collections Department. Did any else think "High five!", when they saw the last panel?

Did Annie just go to the forest alone and there weren't any alarms or anything? Well, how much more official does it need to be than to have the two mediums personally involved? Each of them is, within a certain context, the chief authority for their side. And Annie, as Forest Medium, should have free access to the Forest. It would be improper for the Court to deny or interfere. (Of course, Annie is also a student and resident of the Court, so some degree of compromise will occur. But it will be "as long as you fulfill certain defined obligations here, your free time is yours and if you choose to spend some of it over there that's none of our business".) Also, this is probably the first time since the Gap was created that the Forest Medium has had free access to the Court.

I don't think we'll see the jackalope body again. That's a sympathetic character, and I doubt that Tom will show the body going the same way the wisp-wasp did. Which was implied to be Coyote's intent, as well as an extremely logical follow-on.

But eventually it'll toughen up my soles. I think Smitty was trying to raise da roof, in a non-threatening way.
