So, plotting through Paz, maybe Kat ain't listening?Or ain't listening that easily? Or maybe the whale-ship-whatever-thingy-thing is so attending Kat that he doesn't notice what Paz is doing? Or... maybe I'm not getting something here? What is Shadow doing and why?

Considering the glimpse of the future we got, I'm wondering how this all adds up. Well, either it is foreplay or it is an attack. Guess that depends on how things go from here to there. Another weekend ruined by the wait for the Monday morning.

"Alright, Paz, I'm gonna have to ask you to [Redacted] so that [Redacted] can [Redacted] and [Redacted] because your wifey seems to be just slightly too into this whole 'turn the mad loveboat into a grotesque horrorwhale' thing and when it comes down to NOT DOING THAT, or SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN SCIENCE, I'm not entirely certain about which she'll choose."

How about, "I'll distract the amorous mecha-whale while you grab Princess Kat and skedaddle?"

The ship and the serephs don't seem to regard PAz as a threat so I assume they are not paying her too much attention. I'll be intrigued to see what happens next.
I am still predicting something awful ends up happening to Paz.

Or "...psst, please don't look this way so that weird thing won't notice... oh" I am still predicting something awful ends up happening to Paz. She is "pretty unlucky", but this usually doesn't actually end bad, just annoys her.

Huh. Did Shadow ever pull off that Flatland stuff before? I mean, *after* being scraped off the floor with Coyote's tooth?

Shadow 2: "Please listen, Miss Paz. We have a complicated plan, that you're an important part of. We need to whisper mysteriously, creating ambiguous tension, then have the audience wait till Monday." Paz: "So, the usual." Shadow 2: *sad trombone* *winks*
I'm not sure how Paz's ability can help, in this situation. I'm guessing Lindsay's out of range(or worse), and Paz can already talk with the Love Whale. Maybe, it will be her Power of Heart.

Kat appears to be making a whale- that's so obvious. She should totally go for something more interesting, like a sea-cucumber, nudibranch, goblin-shark, or cuttlefish.
Edit: Ooh ooh no wait, a pistol-shrimp!

So, that was probably "grab something that float, we are going to collapse the distortion in 5 ready or not."
Nice going Carver, you are ruining everything again.

This reminds me of art class back in Jr High; we had to make sea creatures out of papier maché. I made a shark. It looked pretty cool, but the proportions were a little off and you could tell where the different parts were connected together. I wonder how much of a fail whale this is going to turn out to be? On the one hand, Kat's got a real skeleton (I guess?, for sake of discussion, anyways) to build around, so that should help. On the other hand, how much sculpting experience has she had? It looks like there are some arts done at the Court, at least as an elective. But this is not exactly the same class -- or should I say, kingdom.

I was wondering the same thing as foresterr. I thought after Shadow became three-dimensional he couldn't attach himself to the floor like that, nor would his mouth be see-through as it appears in panels 5 and 6 on this page. Is this on account of the reality distortion, or can he really still act like a shadow?

I think Kat's had enough experience with the muscle-sculpting(?) she's already done in her workshop that she should be all right. Especially considering how clearly this thing is already resembling a sperm whale. Kat appears to be making a whale- that's so obvious. She should totally go for something more interesting, like a sea-cucumber, nudibranch, goblin-shark, or cuttlefish. Edit: Ooh ooh no wait, a pistol-shrimp! Considering that he asked for a form Lindsey would find pleasing, I'm surprised he's not complaining/threatening. I was wondering the same thing as foresterr. I think it was more of a convenience thing; three dimensions give so much more freedom of movement!

Using a bird to distract a Kat; excellent idea. How about a crab, or whatever do you call that what Lindsey is? merostomatazon Isn't it likely the ship is an idiot, used by the seraphs for their gain, whatever that is?

Count me as one more person wondering why Kat's making the ship's new form a whale rather than a merostomatazon, but if she's taking that route, she might as well make it a white whale with three harpoon-holes in the side - then call to the nearest one-legged whaling captain "Remember that whale that bit off your leg? There it is!" (It ought to be "Thar it is!", but since Tom's not keen on dialect....)

I think it was mentioned before, but can't find it. Don't understand what the seraphs plan is. A basic oversight seems to be the lack of lifeboats. Maybe they use the ship as a guinea pig. If Kat can create a body for him, they'll force her to make bodies for them. And after that? Overthrow the leadership of the court? Maybe something Diego plotted all along?

Considering that he asked for a form Lindsey would find pleasing, I'm surprised he's not complaining/threatening. He has not inquired about exactly how Lindsey will find a whale-shape pleasing. What does a 30-foot merostomatazon eat? (More specifically than "anything it wants to".)

Isn't it likely the ship is an idiot, used by the seraphs for their gain, whatever that is? Given that Seraphs apparently were the only ones (other than S13) who actually paid attention to what Kat does, and are critical for the plan as such several times over, while the ship is ignorant even in matters as trivial as "how males of the desired species look"? The ship was obviously played for a patsy here.

Most likely the Love Boat is becoming a whale because he heard Lyn remark that she finds them beautiful or something, or he has repeatedly observed her watching them in their travels across the sea. Not sure if because they are just nifty natural creatures, potential romantic partners superior to Bud or delectable edibles but assuming the first of those three because Love Boat is a robot. Also he's a whale because Kat has even less knowledge about merostomatazon internal structures than whale.
