The city on the ships tail is really cool. Bets that most students are in the city, to match being on the boat?

Eridium? Also, flesh? Ship computer, you're already a near-lovecraftian bone whale thing with arteries sprouting out and wierd appendages. We may also be seeing signs of non-Euclidean space happening.

That is awesome. Tom, you son of a paintbrush. But holy feet. That... that... Well, that. But now I wonder everything about it, like how and why.

I see he(?) already got bones, half of the work done. The Seraphs and robots in general seem to be quite informed about details regarding the nature of Zimmingham and their representations there, if they were to expecting the events to unfold in this exact way. I mean: As far as we have seen, they are not surprised they are not exactly beautiful to human eye in Zimmingham. This might turn out even more sinister than I anticipated. I also wonder what this ...sight (...their true form?) tells about the souls of robots (and the mind of their creator), if anything. Also, only for the very bravest: ...after we have seen the Ship and Seraphs like this, imagine Boxbot in Zimmingham. Brrr...

Purple glowing rock/liquid from Borderlands 2. Actually, I kinda like how the purple stuff looks like a hybrid between muscle fibers and ribbon cable. Nightmarish imagery is really damn cool in the middle of the brightly lit day.

So uh... four things.
1. I think the ship's got that whole "becoming flesh" thing down pretty well on it's own. Or close to it, anyway.
2. I felt that it was just an indication that everyone wasn't too separated, but now I think it's much more clear that everyone conveniently being right next to a river isn't so convenient anymore.
3. The ship appears to be growing buildings, and due to the rather barren look of the area that Kat and Paz are in, I wonder if that's the real Zimmyngham and they're somewhere separated from the main body. But then, there's a set of stairs on the far right so I suppose they must be somewhere even partially civilized. Maybe what happened has broken Zimmyngham itself, which is a scary thought if it's possible..
4. Yeah okay this isn't completely terrifying or anything. Just... when Tom wants to make something creepy, damn... Props to him.

Purple glowing rock/liquid from Borderlands 2. This. Iridium is a radioactive isotope often used as fuel. Misspelling perhaps? Not this. Sorry, I'd been playing right before checking the update so it was on my mind.

As for where they are, I bet it's a representation of the room that Kat and Paz are in since they are separated from the others, you can see that canister thing, although it's grown in size and cracked, and pouring out bubbly smoke that almost seems solid.
Actually, is it me or does that 'smoke' have veins in it? I can see darker purple vein like lines.

I was about to go to sleep. Not anymore. Thanks, Tom. When I fail my exams tomorrow, I'm blaming you. But man, this is some seriously Lovecraftian shit. At least Kat's got some experience dealing with such entities... Bonus points for noticing that the experimental muscle that Kat had made is the small thing growing under Shipthulu. EDIT: I was ninja'd on this part...

Skeletal frame, with disconnected muscles? Mix between beautiful and disturbing? So terrifying that minds melt upon beholding its true form? I think someone owes me royalties.

Kat never actually saw the lovecraftian form of the librarian entity.

Kat never actually saw the lovecraftian form of the librarian entity. I was kind of joking - my fault for not making it clear, sorry. Actually, is it me or does that 'smoke' have veins in it? I can see darker purple vein like lines. Yes it does. It looks more like some kind of oozing cancer, something along these lines.

Oh, it's Eggers! (I'm sorry)
Damn, what happened to the wing?! Things in Zimmyingham (do we have a spelling for that?) tend to turn eldritch, but that thing just looks like it turned into an ulcerous mass of flesh. If that thing's the base for making him Flesh the result won't be pretty I think.
He may be in love, so he's not rational, but even if Kat'd make him Flesh, he'd apparently still be a friggin' whale; Lindsey is a married crustacean, so I don't see how that'd improve his chances... I guess the other robots don't care either way, they're just interested in one of their own 'ascending'.

Yep, that's closer than my reference. I knew it looked familiar from somewhere... What's that from? Mine or his? Mine's a MtG card, obviously. His is from the Japanese anime film Akira. I guess the other robots don't care either way, they're just interested in one of their own 'ascending'. Admittedly, if the only purpose of this all was to turn themselves into flesh, it has indeed been half-achieved. They never said anything about not being terrifying and eldritch horrory.

Damn you, ship. You went from creepy/terrifying to creepy/pitiful by just adding "please" to your demand. The poor thing. But what is Kat supposed to do now to bring the robo-flesh from A to B? I wonder if she's even gonna bother or if she'll still refuse.

Kat's 'artificial flash' from the canister looks... wrong, it looks cancerous.
I am assuming this is a sign to show she hasn't got it working properly let, or that the very idea of creating artificial flesh is so antithetical to the ether that it will always look rotten and unhealthy in these places.
Also I wasn't expecting the robots to be able to enter the zimmingham ether, but I guess they can, and become hideous. This does imply that those shapes we saw earlier are indeed the seraphs... and they now look deadly...
Although, given how these chapters often get set up, the things that look deadly are actually sweet-natured. Perhaps Kat will be able to convince the ship of the error of it's ways only to then be confronted by the seraphs forcing them both to follow through with the plan.
