On to chapter 59...This looks promising...maybe something about Kat's vacation pictures? Or a mysterious flying octopus? Honestly I've got nothing here. Tom's comment seems positive... IT'S A TRAP!

Possible reference?Or is this the holiday in Spain? In any case, at least this year Annie gets to get away from the court/forest for a while.

Maybe the source of the Annan waters? Some other thoughts would be shattered paradise maybe.

A very far-fetched: Finally something of Annie father?

A very far-fetched: Finally something of Anne father? Possible, I suppose - we've seen him in pictures before. And pictures seem to be rare in the Gunnerverse, so it's a contender. That would be nice, since he has indeed been a wildcard, um, forever. Maybe the source of the Annan waters? Some other thoughts would be shattered paradise maybe. Or perhaps a shattered relationship between two friends, symbolized by a torn picture? Just throwing out ideas here...(please Tom no...) In any case, at least this year Annie gets to get away from the court/forest for a while. ...Don't jinx it. That would be an interesting change of pace, but wouldn't the title of the comic have to change then? Gunnerkrigg Port? Needs image edit.

Revealed: the Annan Waters are in fact a rift valley that was formed when Coyote split a tectonic plate in two. (For he is very powerful, of course)
Otherwise I've got nothing. The thumbnail doesn't help.

The excitement! The Gunnerkrigg Beach!
Or Tom's just teasing us; the chapter will be set in the Court, the only glimpse of beach we will see will be that photo.

Another field trip 'inside' of the Court? Time will tell. I still want to see an edit of the title page for Gunnerkrigg Port, befitting the naval theme of the chapter name.

Well, whatever happens, it sure will lead to a significant turning point in the story. And I'm sure that someone or something (for example a person's point of view towards things), it will change. But as they say we are us: Nothing is certain until the moment until it happened, but anything can happen in the meantime.
I look forward to the upcoming sequences.

At least we know what the chapter title page picture *is*, this time. (Last chapter's got an impressive range of guesses of what it was; it turned out to be a shirt.)
What its *significance* is, is (as usual) yet to be determined. (The shirt was of no importance whatsoever.)
Given that the picture includes a palm tree, and the Annan Waters are somewhere in Britain, I doubt that the Annan Waters will play a major role in this chapter. But my webcomic prediction record is a bit short of perfect (I've been right once or twice).

On tons tumblr he posted pictures of Annie kat and paz in outfits he said they would wear in the next chapter. So maybe this is the summer holidays, and both Annie and paz join kats family on holiday for the first time? Can't imagine that being awkward at all...

Thus, we should brace ourselves for awkward romantic comedy? Unprecedented amount of shipping at Gunnerkrigg Port even? E: I can imagine the awkward dialogues: - Yes Kat, of course your friend Paz can join us on our vacation! Should I book a room for two then? - Erm, Mum, you see, she's is my girlfriend.
Thank the Great Old Ones Tom writes this comic, not me.

Wild guess:
This is the chapter in which Kat and Paz break up.

I got nothing. Most plausible ones I can think of are Kat's vacation or a follow up on the tree octopus.

This being gunnerkrigg.tumblr.com? because I don't see anything like that there. I see Annie's outfit form last chapter, but that's the most recent thing.

Ah, that makes sense then. I've not started my job yet so I'm not able to patronise Tom at the moment.

All I can think of about a torn sea is Moses in The Ten Commandments, so maybe some Abrahamic figures join the forest?

The first thing that came to my mind was: Annie's going to ruin Kat's holiday plans AGAIN?! Hopefully this is NOT what this chapter s about...

I have a few guesses as to what this chapter maybe about, and not all of them pleasant. Or perhaps a shattered relationship between two friends, symbolized by a torn picture? Just throwing out ideas here...(please Tom no...) This being one of them. And most of my guesses revolve around this concept. Annie's father would be interesting, definitely. And I certainly wouldn't mind finding out where the waterfrom Annan River comes from. A chapter about going on a holiday to a very etheric location ["The Torn Sea". If that isn't mystical, I don't know what is] would also be quite pleasant. All I can think of about a torn sea is Moses in The Ten Commandments, so maybe some Abrahamic figures join the forest? Whoah. That's deep, yo. (Or something, should "deep" be deemed unsuitable). Also would be interesting!

I'm imagining a really Gandalf-esque Moses getting frustrated with Coyote now.

Wild guess: This is the chapter in which Kat and Paz break up. *ducks into foxhole*I'm leaning toward this. At first, I was thinking it might be about the Ether Rain experiments, finally blowing up in the Court's face, but the palm tree makes that seem unlikely. I'm imagining a really Gandalf-esque Moses getting frustrated with Coyote now. Modalf: You shall not pass! Coyote: What? Wind? Modalf: ...

I'd say that this is symbolic of the Annan Waters, which is itself symbolic of the rift between the Forest and the Court. This chapter will be about the troubles Annie and Smitty have with getting the Forest and Court to go along with their idea of allowing greater contact with the other.

Well, the forest is a sea of trees and the court is a sea of buildings.

Out of phrase "torn sea", I get this: gunnerkrigg.com/?p=455Meaning that my far fetched hunch points towards another Zimmy-chapter, that could possibly take place in Birmingham, several years in past.

Holiday time already? Man, Gunner-time flies by when you're having fun Is there any confirmation of the time of year? It seems long enough since Fire Spike to have been a year in-comic, but we never saw any winter at all...on the other hand, we never have. I do hope Annie goes with them this time - she seems like a much more emotionally-balanced person than she was a 'year' ago.
