End of chapter already? I wonder if this is a setup for a new character!

One could think that Green Fairy is simply projecting her desires onto a dumb animal.
...until that last panel.

I... can't see this going well. Her last line of dialogue is really ominous.

End of chapter already? I wonder if this is a setup for a new character! Of course. Hmmm I wonder if her name will be significant. Of course.

Wow. That's two heavy chapters in a row. Granted, this one was very sweet, but still...Tom, you're killing me over here.
Good stuff. Lovely story. Rather than worry about what may or may not go right or wrong in the future, I'm just gonna soak in the last few pages. We've seen a lot of Annie "failing upwards", and this is a nice reminder that she has everyone's best interests at heart and intuitively has what it takes to be the Forest Medium.

tremendous lack of sleep + reading this page = tears in my eyes (they probably would have been there minus the lack of sleep anyway)
Bonus page prediction: Party Parley!

I predict that now that the (current) rabbit is moving to the Court, she will become a character at least as prominent as Jack or Paz. Just making a long bet...

I thought it was an interesting juxtaposition of chapters. Last chapter we saw mort, good friend of Annie and kat, going into the ether and the unknown, and disappearing for the last time.
This chapter we see the rabbit going to the court, which is unknown for both it and her best friend the fairy, but we see the hope that can come from potentially being able to see each other again.
Before both of these we saw Annie reacting to finding out about kat and paz, which was also referenced here. Annie thought she would lose a friend, but was reassured by the end.
This series of chapters seems to be about the different reactions to the loss of friend, running and hiding, sadness yet happiness for them moving on, and relief that there is hope to see them again. I am not sure what it means, but it surely seems to be preparing us for something big.
Also bonus page will be the mediums dancing styles! Ysengrin will be sitting in the corner sulking...

Hmm. Given the (perhaps unfortunate) propensity of some folks to try to pair up Antimony with someone else in the story, it may be notable that the bunny is going to become a boy. What age are they when they make the change? I had the impression that Red, et al, are contemporaries of Kat and Annie, despite being newcomers...

I would like to fail my way up the world myself, actually. And as hopeless as crater points it out, I still want to be hugged by a giant rabbit. Or a cat. A cat would do, too. (Maybe not by this one.)

That was quick. I gotta say after last chapter I got spoiled, expecting each page to be super significant and full of character interaction. This chapter started slow but I enjoyed the last few pages.
My immediate thought at the end of this page is that the Jackalope isn't showing much emotion. It could at least crack a smile! Then I remembered it's a Jackalope and that their faces aren't very expressive.

Awww! Of course, the cute factor will diminish, when a new student with an overbite angrily demands tortoise soup. Bonus page prediction: Party Parley! I imagine there's comedy gold, involving an intoxicated Parley and an uncomfortable/angry Ysengrin.

Why don't Annie or Smitty think to just get rid of the policies altogether?
arf Not necessarily, the rabbit could be sad about something else.

I found this page super touching. While I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop and fully expect the next chapter to include a reality check about exactly how much power Annie and Smitty don't have to make decisions about who can and cannot move between the forest and the court I do hope green and her friend are able to reconnect.
That tear... I wonder if our super smart rabbit friend is so smart she realizes that when a brand spanking new medium who is still pretty much a child says "I'll try" about something that makes it a long shot.

Although we don't know what power Annie and Smitty actually have, it's worth mentioning that this falls neatly enough into the purview of their described jobs.

Is it known that this is the end of the chapter? This is still a few pages shorter than other recent chapters have been.

Bottom right-hand corner has the antimony symbol, which denotes the end of the chapter. There will be a bonus page (or two or three), then the next chapter will start, but this is definitely the end of the main part of this chapter.

I want to believe it will be easy, but when power struggles and asserting dominance comes into play sometimes "falls neatly enough into purview of described job" becomes less important than "this action you have taken goes directly against my will and so I will actively block it despite having nominally given you the power to make this decision." Edit: I am thinking specifically of a certain authority figure who asked a certain someone for her recommendation leading her to believe it mattered and then completely disregarded it and didn't even bother to tell her until publicly announcing a certain appointment.

I guess US and UK politics aren't really all that different.

Which is sometimes meaningful (but we can't necessarily figure out what it means until later) and sometimes not (in the just-completed chapter, it turned out to be a picture of the fairy's shirt).

End of chapter already? I wonder if this is a setup for a new character! Could be. An "I told you that story, so I could tell you this one." Is what comics are all about. you will never hug a giant rabbit that cares for you Until now I never realized how much I wanted to. I would like to fail my way up the world myself, actually. And as hopeless as crater points it out, I still want to be hugged by a giant rabbit. Or a cat. A cat would do, too. (Maybe not by this one.) Wouldn't we all like to fail upwards at least once? I'd settle for this or a catbus.
