Not sure this had been something good enough for it's own thread, as I'm almost dead certain this has been asked before. But I can't really seem to find it in another thread, nor in the searches I've done. So, can anyone guess how old Antimony is in the comic, and what ages she could be in what chapters? I know she's somewhere around her 10's at the start and is something around 14/15 currently, but I'm just curious as to how specific Tom may have gotten before in explaining. As you guys know we can assume she's progressively older in some chapters, (And by some I mostly mean these two: Red Returns, From the Forest She Came) so I'm looking for ages in those chapters. If this has already been asked, then feel free to redirect me to that thread or something and I'll get rid of this one.

On November 26, 2007, Tom said Antimony was 12 years old. We used to have dates of posted pages in the archives, so it would be easier to figure out what page had been posted then, argh. She's probably 14-15 now? I'll figure it out if I get the chance. We do talk about this on occasion in the individual page threads, but I'm not sure there's a dedicated thread for this. Edit: She had just turned 12 when she started at GC (which was mid-way through the school year), and we've had two summers (wow, only two?) since then. So she's 13 or 14 (I'm going to guess 14, considering how many chapters have passed since she's come back from the forest. That was Ch. 32, and we're in Ch. 48). She's definitely 13 in the two chapters you mentioned. P.S. Got this info from the Gunnerkrigg Wiki, which pools information from Tom's old posts in the forum, (now defunct) FormSpring, Twitter posts, etc.

Thank you my fellow user! I figured it had to be around that age. Anyway, Yeah I guess that answers that huh? Not much else to do with this thread. :/ How about the other characters? Any mention on them? I know we can assume Kat's gotta be around the same age, but how about Smitty and Parley? I know right? I honestly thought we'd been through like 4 or something. I believe at the start she's in year 7 right? Doesn't that translate to about six grade or something in America? So she's in year 7 at the start, goes through year eight, and now she's in year 9 (8th grade)? Sorry, I don't know how the school system works over there.. :l

They're still around, only now they're under the "find it by accident" category. Ends up in Chapter 15: Red Returns

Sorry, I don't know how the school system works over there.. :l I have no idea how stuff translates either, hah! When I was in "6th Grade," I was 11 (but most are 12, so that you're 18 when you graduate high school). We're all sorts of messed up even within our own country; some schools are primary-secondary, others have elementary-middle-high, and then middle school could be 6-7-8 or just 7-8 or 6-7-8-9, etc. Shit's cray. I know we can assume Kat's gotta be around the same age, but how about Smitty and Parley? Tom has told us what year they were in before (probably when Jones introduces them to Annie). I'll go look. Edit: Parley, year 10, Smitters, year 9, two (in-comic) years ago. So they're now 12 and 11, respectively, and probably ages 17 and 16. But that could be wrong, depending on how young/old they are for their grade. -- Thanks Gotolei! Did not know that.

You're probably right, I do remember that being mentioned somewhere. Not sure if it was in that exact chapter, though.
Oh god, I just realized I made a mistake when naming the thread. "Ages of the Antimony throughout the comic so far", that just don't sound right. Let me rename that real fast. Sorry guys, I was not at all trying to sound cutesy or anything, that was a legitimate mess up. :/

"Ages of Annie" is another great title for the fan soundtrack.

Really, that old? They look a lot more older in that first page. Well thanks again, that answers that. Yeah sorry about that haha. (That was close, I was actually about to put the laugh- out- loud word.) I second that. And while we're at it, we should totally make this the album cover. Joking, that would be a little too self promoting of me. :l

In the comment on the first Bonus Page Tom gave us a run down of the typical ages in each year. It too points to Annie being 14 at the moment. (Year 9 -> 13-14; Judging by their current clothing it's getting warmer again -> late in Year 9 -> Annie's likely 14)

This makes me wonder: Parley and Smitty are /young/ to be taking on so much responsibility. And Annie, even younger, was a serious contender for the role of medium as well. I wonder how young Surma was when she was offered the job... how long she served as medium for... Under what circumstances she left. (The forest creatures seemed unaware she was no longer around when Coyote and Ys first came to the court despite her long absence. Given that Annie has no memory of the court, presumably Surma left before she was born which means the court was without a medium for 12 years without the forest knowing that no one was serving in this role. Actually, this makes me wonder how important the medium /actually/ is to the court and how much power is actually allowed to whoever holds the role.)

The court's current administration probably holds the medium with low importance in the same way that they hold the forest itself with low importance. As the forest is becoming more active, though, that will change. If a major enough event happens they might even isolate Andrew, Parley, and Annie from the rest of the students.

It must have been a long time since the Forest and Court had come into contact (before Annie's bridge debacle), since the Headmaster had not seen Ys's wooden body. Probably they just hadn't been in contact since the disastrous Reynard-related events, so neither side knew much about the other.
