So, either we're looking at Jeanne, or time flows differently inside the Forest (which, given it's Coyote's lair, isn't entirely out of the question...)

Or, more likely, a game of telephone-tag. Stories get stretched out of proportion when retold.

We seem to be missing about 1600 chapters or so.

Random observation: spelled "honor" and not "honour." Just a typo? Or are Canvey Island Monsters more widespread than previously thought? OVERTHINK ALL THE THINGS

If they believe the rumors about Antimony's greatness then they will treat her with reverence. Those who know the truth about her visit with the forest dudes will find their version of the facts to be overshadowed by the later deeds, one presumes, and in the resulting story line of GC the legend will be more important than the truth, I expect.

The link ain't working.
And so Annie became the forest's Chuck Norris. "She spent a hundred years with the tree people; in one summer." I really like the upper half of the page with the row dividers doubling as staffs.
The design on Annie's shield looks like Coyote. The question mark in her ears persists.

It is how you get a great story you get a striking person as add fun / impressive stories of her and other at. That max you up and you have something everyone attention to listening to.

Next they'll be saying she's fifty feet tall and has marked the moon with her personal signature.

The question mark is... well, it looks like the inside of the ear - except the last panel here. So it may truly be a question mark, maybe?
Speaking of the last panel, notice she's not wearing a shirt (well, technically a sleeve). Keeping in mind this is a tall tale, it is definitely intended to include a romantic element here.

Man, Tom really needs to start giving us dates with these things. I had no idea that that one summer had lasted a whole century!

Nice deltoids, Carver. We must have missed an awesome montage! What would be the montage song? Wandering Eye of the Tiger?

It was a gentle smack on my face as to how Tom's though processes was when he made this page. "Hmm, how do I symbolise hair and a disembodied head and how do I make it look more awesome?"

I think it's all just part of the stylized version of the art that shows us it's big on story, short on details. She's not wearing a shirt (or pants, technically) on this page either, but I get the impression that it's more about symbolism than sexuality.

A dark assassin that cannot be killed, not even with a weapon forged by the gods, an untiring and indestructible metal golem are her servants and bodyguards. At this rate, but the time they actually get to the gathering Antimony will be ruling over all the of Gunnerkrigg court from atop her skull-throne.

Also, is this the Official Forest Medium Skirt she's wearing? I think that's a representation of the Anwyn family symbol from the usual outfit sans pants, maybe because they don't know about the pants/leggings. Not sure if that's just a souvenir or if she's an orphan unofficially adopted. Always room for one more, as they say. I figure the question mark just means they don't know what she looks like. Less seriously: “There, she braved their leanest worsteds!” Also when the handsome prince asked for her hand, if she’d spoke of troth in tooth he’d have got it.
