I guess it figures, most creatures of the forest have probably never seen a human. "Jellyfish" .. a story twisted in re-telling?

Humans... It's those creatures with question marks in their ears, right?

LAUGHING ON LINE on the guys interpretation of Annie's appearance.
I have a feeling that this chapter is literally about tall tales, basically stories making Annie a larger than life figure. With each one being what that creature heard or their imagining of it.
The split mask face of the elemental makes a reappearance.

Annie's ear having a question mark inside is a really nice, subtle touch.
Also: Dragons dragons dragons dragons

Still don't trust the thing without arms.
Patiently waiting for the rain of fire.

Why does Annie have webbed fingers? Is this just what the armless thing expects of her?

I bet Ysengrin is the party planner. Thus far he has mostly been the party pooper.

Other Antimony Facts:
There is no ether, just the leftovers of Annie's dreams Annie uses Coyote's tooth to shave her legs Annie doesn't burst into flames; the air ignites itself out of sheer fright There are no dead animals in the forest; only animals that annie doesn't like

I like how Tom intersperses his light comic style with some serious drawing. I don't know how intentional this is (even with Tom involved), but this page reflects an interesting theological riff given by SF author David Brin in deciding what the first commandment God gave to Adam. You can read it here. (It's worth a few minutes)

I have a feeling that this chapter is literally about tall tales, basically stories making Annie a larger than life figure. With each one being what that creature heard or their imagining of it. This is also what I think, as per chapter title. As impressive as that may sound, Frankie Or Francis. It's the nickname I give to the Canvey Island Monster,as it is a gender-neutral name may have misheard about Annie's time in the forest; an exaggeration of her meeting with the forest dread creatures. The possibility of this account being true is not that bad, however, as we may not have known what Annie has done on the side (comic book time). She may have actually done these things with Ysengrin when she was out of focus. Still considering that the only time she was out of focus was during the "Pazerina" chapter, and only until the end of the chapter. Stuff may have happened in between chapters. Tom knows. For now, though, I still stand with the quoted opinion. Let's see how it unravels, shall we? Why does Annie have webbed fingers? Is this just what the armless thing expects of her? Annie's depiction also seems to have gills. A preconception of Frankie's, perhaps?

In fairness to the frog thing, he got most of the silouette mostly right.

Tall tales indeed! Meeting every forest animal and hearing their life story would take an awfully long time. I could see how the encounter where she and Smitty wandered into the forest might get spun into something like that though. I am interested to see how this develops.

You know, I'd never noticed Annie's webbed hands before.
The things you miss, huh?

I bet Ysengrin is the party planner. Ysengrin (in normal voice): *gasp* "There aren't even any decorations in here! At least, some streamers. Yellow and pink to match the season, are a must. I'll fix this! Step aside, Ann-Ann. I'm about to show you, you're not the only one who's flaming." *z-snaps fingers* Tall-tales and some Rashomon retellings should be fun. I wonder, how much will it tell us about the Forest inhabitants? It's an excellent way to give us more Forest info in a controlled manner. Probably enough to tease, but never enough to satisfy.

Goddamn it, this is going to be another of those 'learn half of the truth and no more' chapters, isn't it? Which are, in fact, the best kind of chapters.
Also, did anyone else catch that there is a subtle implication that the fairy is not from the forest? The way Toad is describing this, she does not seem to be in the people he considers 'in the forest'.

Unless he considers himself a foreigner as well.

Wait wait wait, there is a DRAGON in the forest? Eheh. Funny how not many commented on that. It was the first "animal" that I saw among the many animal silhouettes. It is very possible. We just don't know the extent of the forest. Indeed, there is a village of the forest people. Perhaps there may be a dragon (family) or two in the forest as well. Though once again, it could simply be an exaggeration. I wanna see another dragon though. They're awesome. Bahamut, the Platinum Dragon, King of all Dragons, for the win.

Might be worth pointing out that the placement of gills is rather odd. All tetrapods with gills have them above the forelimbs, as do lungfish so they would realistically be placed along the neck, or behind the jaw.
Then again, this is a magical creature's mental image so whatevs.

Especially since the creature appears to have gills in the same position, that is, bilaterally lineating the ribcage. Also, today I learned a new English word. Can you guess which one?

I still couldn't get it. Is it merely a joke about embarrassing occasions where no one knows what to do? Especially since the creature appears to have gills in the same position, that is, bilaterally lineating the ribcage. Also, today I learned a new English word. Can you guess which one? Ooh! Oooh! Is it the word "in"? No! It's "gills", I know it! I mean, come on, how many times do have people come across "gills" before?
