Who called it? Who called it? Seriously, somebody predicted that he'd run into Jones, and I don't remember who it was.

..that's a shadow?
So I guess this might help to explain Mort ending up at the Court. Maybe he stuck around with her until she got there?

(A thought I believe I've had about this comic many a time.)

"Shadowed hand." Can't english tonight. Anyway I'm kind of surprised we're seeing Jones already.. seems like Tom's getting right to the point with this chapter.

Watch Jones get hit by a bomb and just take it like the invincible (possibly overpowered) rock she is. And as the smoke clears, all you see is her blank expression.

A 2000 pound blockbuster would probably just make Jones squeaky clean and very naked.

Hey, I wouldn't say no to a little fan-service either.
Jones is a hot cookie. An infinitely hard obsidian lava cookie, but a classy dame nonetheless.

Welp. Didn't see that coming. Me neither. I feel I should have though; Tom sure has dropped a couple of hints: 1) It's already established Jones took that name during a WWII bombing in England. Guess what, a WWII bombing in England is now coming up! 2) It's already established Jones knew Mort, as she was arranging his meeting with the medium candidates, but until now there was not hint as to how she came to know him. Nice threadwork, Tom.

Nice threadwork, Tom. True, true. But it's easy to see hints in retrospect, and harder when the main times you find yourself looking at the comic are at very odd hours when you really should be sleeping. Before I go off to do just that, though, I have to say that thinking about Morty's actions here really tugs at my heartstrings; brave little kid he is, naively so sure, but still brave and kind even with fear written across his face.

Mr. North, I quite agree.
New theory in light of Jones: Mort doesn't die in the bombings at all, Jones tries smiling at him and he instantly dies of fright, hence becoming a ghost tasked by the ROTD with scaring folks.
Kid doesn't lose his mischievous streak, even in death.

Kind of like you'd expect a memory to look!

Hmm what if Mort died of old age, and this is going to be one hell of a long chapter?

Covalent, I worry about you. Goose, I sympathize with you. Daylight savings time stole an hour from me at the start of finals week, and I am not happy about it.

Damn you, daylight saving time. It's these few weeks of the year again when timezones are even more skrewed up than normally... Anyway, Jones! Is she Jones yet, or still Emma? I found that page with my first guess of page number. I'm a little freaked out.

Daylight savings begins here in UK on the last weekend in March, so you've only got around 3 weeks of weird times!
Also wow, somehow I never even thought of this... So Mort died trying to protect Jones/Emma? I guess that's why she knew him well already, and felt responsible for his death perhaps, maybe even a reason she might move to the Court with him?
In what we've seen of her past we haven't seen someone appreciate her enough to die for her. Die and give her their name yes, drive her away yes, but not die while trying to save a lady they didn't know.

Who called it? Who called it? Seriously, somebody predicted that he'd run into Jones, and I don't remember who it was. That would be me. I didn't really expect it would happen, though. I just thought about that flashback where she was at a bombed factory in London. Could Jones be the one who delivers Mort to the Court in some manner? I wonder if it'd be before of after his demise. It would be ironic if he escaped the Blitz but ended up kicking the bucket at his new safe haven.
