Yeah I wonder how long he's been a ghost? Being a ghost really is where it's at.

So I guess Kat is an official, verifiable robo-angel now.

I half expected her to need to put her finger in the bats mouth in order for it to take a blood sample.
Whatever her credentials are, they apparently work, even though the secretary didn't have a clue on what it was.
Also, total cheesiness with the bat....

Yeah I wonder how long he's been a ghost? Being a ghost really is where it's at. Probably a loooooooooooooooooooong time now. They said Jeanne's features have faded, and I'm guessing it fades over time, compare Jeanne and Mort and you'll see that he must've been around for a loooooooooooooooooooong time.

Thinking about the 2-dimensional guy, living inside that 2-dimensional decal window and then leaning out of it still makes my brain hurt.
Does verifying her credentials make Kat's position (whatever it may be) 'official' now?

The bat's speech bubble..the RoTD uses robots?
Wonder how often paper skull guy gets to do stuff like this.

I guess the verification bat checks if the credentials are fake or something, also that symbol has been kats symbol for a very long time now anyway.

Does verifying her credentials make Kat's position (whatever it may be) 'official' now? Well she is on her way to creating living robots, so they'll need a guide when they die. The robot angel Zimmy sees will be Kats Reaper guise. Of course this now brings up a chicken or the egg question. Is Kats becoming less human because living robots have the same power as humans to shape the ether or was Kat born something else that is able to create life.

Her machine angel guise looks far more insectoid than it does avian. Then again, it might be twisted though zimmys vision.

And, in response to hoskins88, I'm voting the former. See the RoboKat thread for my reasons.

It could be a real world representation of an etheric machine. The Donlans made an etheric computer kind of thing, so why not other etheric machines.
I'm also wondering whether Annie was impressed with the cheap decor or she is seeing something we aren't.

Sure, in the comic and especially the incentives the symbol has more or less always been associated with Kat. But as far as we know this is only the second time the characters encountered it directly after the seraphs burned it into the walls of Kat's workshop. To them it was just "the mark of the creator", some robot symbol to show that the workshop was "protected". Now TPTB recognize it as granting her entrance to the ROTD, which I'd guess is pretty restricted.

I like that the RoTD is silly in its own way like the secret robot society. Glad the etheric beings aren't all Ysengrin serious. But what is the point of verification really? He said her credentials are verified, but are they really appropriate eniugh to get? Or do they just let anyone in so long as they have some kind of credentials, and its just he didnt recognize the secret robot polices symbol.

It's lucky she only needed verification. If she needed validation, she would have had to touch the polyester witch's hat. It's on loan to the Vampire Anti-Twilight Support Group. Poor guys.
I'm really thinking, there's things going on in the ether, that she's not seeing. Which is funny, in itself, as Kat's "meh" attitude could be contrasting majestic etheric displays. The bat seems to be a kind of captcha for etherkind. Or would that be capteha?

Can we all just appreciate the fact that someone is probably holding onto the wooden stick that the bat is hanging off of? I wonder how much this person appreciates their undeath job, knowing that they'll be able to drop down this probably rubber bat on unsuspecting individuals and cause them quite the fright!
In other news, I wonder if time is subjective in ROTD.

I'm also wondering whether Annie was impressed with the cheap decor or she is seeing something we aren't. I was wondering that too, but with this page what Annie is seeing must be at least somewhat analogous to what Kat is seeing. The guy clearly said "verification bat," and then a bat appeared. Even if it's not a fake-looking bat-on-a-string, Annie must still be seeing a bat, and seeing Kat touch it. (which is still kinda silly) Unless Annie's literally HEARING the 2D skeleton guy say different things, at which point what the heck even.

I half expected her to need to put her finger in the bats mouth in order for it to take a blood sample. Well... yes. That would be the traditional way to do things. These guys seem to go for "wacky", however. Also, total cheesiness with the bat.... Yup, and just like that, right off the bat. It's lucky she only needed verification. If she needed validation, she would have had to touch the polyester witch's hat. It's on loan to the Vampire Anti-Twilight Support Group. Poor guys. Please. Promoting that silly fanfic was an obvious vampire provocation. Makes them widely accepted as a cool part of "good old days". Mortals are responding with "vampires used to suck blood, rather than just suck", did you notice? I'm really thinking, there's things going on in the ether, that she's not seeing. Almost certainly. Annie learned to go for advanced levels long ago, but she couldn't even show the basics (or is it " show off"?) to her numskull friend.

No, I'm sure Mott's not older than Jeanne. Although it's anyone's guess as to what "young" means in regards to ghosts, he can't be more than a century or so old. More likely, his lack of features is just part of his general ghostiness.
