Ok. I just had a cool idea. Imagine that there was an attempt to create Gunnerkrigg Court out of an ensemble cast from other fictional works. What characters from elsewhere most neatly match our beloved Gunnerverse-characters? Ysengrin=Saijin Komamura Kat=Agatha Heterodyne
My contribution haha
Why a spoiler?
Antimony Carver = Tiffany Aching A bit obvious for a Pratchett fan.

? He's more like a creator God isn't he? Neil Gaiman's Anansi is a bit comparable, but even he shows some compassion to others. Coyote may not be evil, but he's totally selfish, driven by boredom alone. Anyone know a character like Jones?

Anyone know a character like Jones? 1: Sunny from I, Robot (movie version; he combines several characters from the book) 2: no, Frith (the sun) is the creator. Elilhrairah is a trickster god, though he's considerably more philanthropic than Coyote.

"philanthropic" and Coyote do -not- belong in the same sentence. Heh.

Probably a dumb question. but do the characters we choose have to be of the same gender?

Blarg. Someone who offered me a place to stay went out and bought $400 worth of food all at once (very very rural area). His card was declined. Guess who had to cover him. >_<

I give him a week. It's kind of my own fault for offering though. A hyena denning with a Lion. What can possibly go wrong? *looks sideways at Coyote* Don't answer that. (in other randomness, go join my Civilization game... entries open... goblinsforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1150 *end plug*)

What did he bought? A whole cow? (It's almost like the rent of my flat) While I wouldn't buy $400 of food at once (I live in a motorhome - where would I store it?), I understand the need. I'm only a mile or so out of town... for a certain definition of "town". The nearest town with two actual grocery stores (neither one very big, but they aren't gas-station convenience stores) is 40 miles each way, and the nearest town with anything resembling a supermarket is 70 miles each way in a different direction. People around here, when they make a grocery run, generally buy a LOT of groceries.

Well, he paid back the $400 finally, but the bank is a local bank and I'm a couple states away now, so it's all in cash (can't make a new account, it messes with my "government assistance". Fortunately, this was within my plans anyway in order to keep my account below a certain threshold (if it goes too high I lose my assistance).
Anyone here live in Ohio? I hear rent is cheaper ($350-ish)... can anyone confirm that?

The motion comics are a close one, but my favorite Video would have to be this awesome fan song I found. I just love the instruments and whatever synthesizer he used.

I wonder what that raptor mask scene is from? Jurassic Park, indirectly. The actual Jurassic, even more indirectly.

Anyone here live in Ohio? I hear rent is cheaper ($350-ish)... can anyone confirm that? Maybe for a one-bedroom studio. For anything larger our rents are more in line with the rest of the nation, minus a couple hundred or so because you're living in Ohio and that sucks.

Anyone here live in Ohio? I hear rent is cheaper ($350-ish)... can anyone confirm that? I know this is late, but rent in Ohio gets cheaper the further you get away from the bigger cities. Cleveland is going to be more expensive than Canton, is going to be more expensive than Smithville. I don't know exact numbers, but I think it's pretty cheap once you get into the mid-range to smaller "cities"/towns.

I try to save everything Tom has ever published, including the pages with spelling mistakes and weird noses. Sadly I missed the original page 1384, as Tom changed a speech bubble after an hour and a half. Can someone help me out?
Yes I know it's a silly habit. I've never really been a fan of anything, but I guess I'm a Gunnerkrigg fan now, and fans are supposed to do stupid stuff like this... That was fast! Thank you!
