Well, technically speaking the term "Friend" is a superset of many different groups, so it's not incorrect; although, by the same logic "Acquaintance" would also have been valid.

Kat is really anxious about not stuffing this up, isn't she?

State your name and the name of your hairdresser! I'm have-ta use that line sometime. If I'm ever pretending to arrest someone I guess.

Like...? Did he change the time when he updates or are my clocks showing the wrong time? Daylight savings time rollback in most of the world (not including the united states).

Seems like they're more efficient at doing security things now. Or at least more so than these guys. Wait, did Tom update an hour too early today? In my timezone, it's at midnight. It was right on schedule (down to the second, even 0_o yay for network time syncing) E: ah yeah DST seems to mess up some things.

But, my clock is apparently correct according to the nets, but it was still an hour too early for me. Wut.

But, my clock is apparently correct according to the nets, but it was still an hour too early for me. Wut. It depends on exactly how daylight savings time - an attempt to make a rope longer by cutting off one end and tying it to the other - works in your particular area as compared to where the server is. As well as whether the DST adjustments programmed into your computer agree with either one. Apparently the US has a slightly different schedule for this silliness than the rest of the world. (And I'm currently in a particular US state that doesn't bother with it at all.)

Paz does not seem to mind Kat calling her "friend."

Kat could have ad libbed, saying that Paz was just a customer waiting for a perm.*
*Because we are all hairdressers.

Third panel is proof of how far Tom's artistic skill has come. Good dynamic pose, even though she's technically standing still, perhaps with a bit of a throwback shock momentum, and very good foreshortening. I think I remember a similar pose with Annie.
Has anyone here watched Invader Zim? That hairdresser line reminds me of Mombot going nuts with "Who DOES your HAIR?!"

Could this page be foreshadowing a significant hair change??! It has been a little while. I think the last we saw was somewhere around here, if you can count that.

Good on Tom to come up with something that is both rather convincing -- we did see one hairdresser who was a robot, so maybe all hairdressers are robots, and therefore all bad at keeping secret locations to themselves, and they believe people have the most exposure to hairdressers than other robots, and people are likely to remember the robot's name -- and stupendously silly.
Okay, maybe just silly, but the logic is there if he needs it.
Also glad to see this is still early enough that labelling the relationship isn't important yet. I hope.

Paz is totally unconcerned and all "I LOVE YOU KAT" while Kat internally freaks out about freaking out Paz Maybe because Paz is so innocent? I think also has more self-esteems. Rereading the early comics you see Kat feeling quite left out due to people shunning her over having a teacher parent and being super smart. She also only got invited to the sneaking-out party due to tech skillz (whereas Paz got invited on her own merits, I guess?). I do find it interesting that (at least it seems like) the Court as a whole notices Annie in a big way due to her talents, but while Kat is rewarded for being smart through the usual kind of things, no-one other than Annie/Robot/Shadow/Mort/Robots/Zimmy has any idea that she is some sort of ROBOT GOD. It's almost like there's what's the mainstream stuff going on at the Court, but all this hidden stuff going on that no-one has any clue about ... sort of like how the Court ignored Anja & Donny's computer because it didn't fit into their model of how the world should work?

I think Paz thinks Kat's shyness about them dating is cute, but she might ask later... Yeah, Paz certainly seems to enjoy it when Kat gets all flustered. Case in point: She probably understands that it takes a while to sort out your feelings, both about the new relationship and that it's with a girl. Remember that she couldn't even work up the courage to write her own love letter. They'll probably have a talk about it later in the chapter, when the robots have left. I just hope that the constant stream of adorableness is maintained.
