Yeah. The abandoned tree-body has started to push leaves. And pretty fast too.

That... is one big ol' head he's got on him. I think it rather juust looks big relative to his body, because his body has atrophied by lack of use and he only has hair left on his head. So, the hair puffs the head up, whilst the body is seen in its real measures, and those are less than impressive.

Well, he is pretty big wolf, at least compared to teenage girls. If you look at the weakish body, it too is much bigger than Annie.

I hope the bonus page shows how Kat and Paz's date went.

I'd be nice to know how the date went, but if it's silly enough for a bonus page, it can't top Eglamore. [Braces to be proven wrong]

... and the "big smiley" is back, in panel two. As it's not quite head-on, it kinda looks like a smirk this time.

Wow. A happy ending! I like it! (Squee!) It's uncomfortably happy, seeing how coyote stuck his paws in this mess.

That's some big maths, eh head. Can you do the body also ? Perhaps including the tree body. I would do it myself, but I don't have the extra twenty minutes right now.

Maybe he thinks it would be fun to psych the readers out by for once giving us a happy ending. We'll be unable to enjoy it, because we'll always be worried about the twist to come. It's also possible that IF Coyote can only speak the literal truth AND his original statement that no harm will come to her had no duration (both debatable), then he may still be bound by that promise. He could also not want his favorite plaything dead yet. His interference could have has nothing to do with Ysengrin in the first place.

Okay. It is freaking big. But math the body too to see if it matches.

I can't help but feel as though the comic is winding up to another big moment, not bad, not good, just a big moment thats going to blow everyone away.

Although he said "rest for a little while" on the previous page I'm now wondering if he's not going back in the tree-body at all. It almost sounds (and looks, since the abandoned body is growing limbs and leaves) like now he intends to fully pass on his job and his knowledge to Annie, and to not use the tree-body to enforce his prior position.

I really like this theory. However, this would lead to some interesting effects... 1) Ysengrin has done a heel-face-turn on his character. Gone is the inferiority complex. 2) Coyote will not like this. His enjoyment of Ysengrin is predicated on the latter's utter dependence. Bad things could happen were Ys to lose the Mandate of Coyote.

Video games have a way of sucking people in, and there's at least one video game nerd involved here (Plus, imagine Annie's reaction when she walks in to tell them about what happened in the forest, and they're engrossed in co-op mode or something)

Holy Vaa! (Actual words that came out of my mouth) Okay, so Ys is of above average size from other wolves. I accept that. Also, yes. :3

I think you're over thinking it, he's just tired after fighting monsters half the day, and he'd probably have an easier time resting while not in his tree-suit.

The last few chapters have left me expecting either a cliffhanger stinger or a drawn-out conversation. A simple pleasant ending like this is nice and happy Unless this is a double bluff and the next page will be an enigmatic reveal of the real Seed Bismith.

I can't help but feel as though the comic is winding up to another big moment, not bad, not good, just a big moment thats going to blow everyone away. Mhm - it feels like we're in the middle or have just crossed a turning point, just based on the sheer number of call-backs and references and resolutions we've seen in this chapter, especially in regards to Annie's relationship to Ys. The conscious mirroring of Beautiful / Beautiful, wolf-tree form / wolf-tree form, straight back / straight back... even of feet / feet / feet add to that the appearance of "Seed Bismuth" in this chapter? This reads like one of those keystone chapters that goes hand in hand with The Great Secret and The Stone. Which all makes us feel as though GK has turned a corner somewhere along the last several chapters and is going about answering more questions than it's bringing up. No climax (hard to know when that will appear, especially given Tom's excellent long-form storytelling), but I agree: this feels like we're definitely on the 2nd half of this story, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see more and more big moments coming up.
