I think the "doctor" in Oglaf reads too much Gunnerkrigg Court. Oglaf is sometimes NSFW, but this particular comic is work safe. Oh hi. My post count is one, but I'm not really new.

This is great. Even the part about the tree-hand fits...
Chalk up another great crossover reference...maybe.

Nice one, that's 2 crossovers now that I've seen. Are there any more references in that particular comic?

I have seen at least 5 crossovers now. Only 2 unambiguous ones, though

So this and the Eglamore one are the only obvious ones, right?

Haha, well, you can't get more obvious than that.

Makes you wonder what Gunnerkrigg serves for breakfast: waspffles? I challenge you to beat that

By the way, I would not view Oglaf at work or in a family friendly setting.
Just a word of advice to the general public.

Heh, it would be cool if that's a reference, but I don't really think just mentioning a tree arm automatically makes it a reference to GKC.

Unless I'm mistaken, an acorn was dropped in the hole and they later transplanted the hand into the isolation chambers where it grew into a tree. Pretty specific.

Hah! I saw that too. Great comic, not for kiddies though. Navaan (the vampire "doctor" in this strip) is probably my favourite character in any webcomic just for how freakin happy she is all the time. I mean look at that face, eternal optimism! Also I love how she appears to be crafting a tiny tophat to put on that tarantula in the first second panel.

A seed rather than an acorn but yeah close enough

I would like to believe that this is a reference, but it isn't so much of a stretch to imagine this situation being created without any allusion to GKC. The tree arm thing itself is not *that* hard to imagine, and the idea that it will grow into a tree arm underground seems like the next logical step.
