Had a thought a few days ago...
Why was it that Surma made Annie a wolf toy in particular? Was it coincidence? Did Surma like wolves? Was it because Surma was friends with Ysengrin?
(Less likely) Did Surma anticipate that Annie might run into Reynardine with the wolf toy and thus give him an escape route?

Well, if Surma had anticipated that Reynardine might become attached to Annie via a toy, she logically would have made a fox rather than a wolf.
Of course, if you look at the level of detail when Reynardine is in pure toy form (or of the doll pre-possession), it could as easily be a fox as a wolf.

When you punch »white wolf antimony« into Google, the second result offers a pretty nice explanation. Pure antimony is a white powder, and a grey wolf symbolizes stibnite (antimony ore). On top of that, the alchemists didn't have the firmest grasp of Greek and may have confused »λύκος«, wolf, with »λευκός«, white/bright. www.urth.net/urth/archives/v0024/0082.shtmlUntil now, I didn't even know that antimony was used by the alchemists to purify gold. Considering that the Sun — a common symbol for gold — is closely associated with Annie and the Forest throughout the comic, I feel like I've been missing a huge point!

Surma had anticipated Tom would want to sell adorable plushies </snark> I think you forgot your open tag, which means I have to interpret that statement literally

I'm still holding on to the time travel theory. SURMA IS ANTIMONY! LITERALLY IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE

Something like that. I would say that she is herself, but Surma and Antimony are clearly two different people instead of one person stuck in a time loop.

LIES she gets a perm for her birthday then develops a very unseemly crush on Eggers It turns out Eggers is also her, with a sex change! And she's also Kat, so she can always have a friend at school! And she's Kat's parents so she can keep up the fiction that Kat is a separate person with parents! And ultimately she is Jones, and she is FOREVER, only she doesn't remember who she was anymore by that point and all of her emotions are gone because she just can't keep up any sort of attachment for all you zombies.

Personally I thought of the single electron theory first: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One-electron_universe

Oh ok, not the one I was thinking of, but looks like an interesting story nonetheless. I was thinking more along the lines of every person being the same being, traveling through time at the points of birth/conception and death. Hence the comparison with the single time travelling electron theory of Feynman.

Ah nevermind, it wasn't the origional point anyway! So anyway, wolf dolls. Have we ever seen Surma's interactions with Ysengrin? We know they knew each other, as Ysengrin mistakes Annie for her the first time they meet.

I don't think we've ever seen Surma & Ys interact, or know anything about what that would have been like?
