Remnants remain to remind. Nice, Ys, how creative. Annie takes this pretty calmly.

Now we get to see the dark side of the forest, perhaps the truly dark side. Sort of like this is where the horrors and creatures of the night dwell.
Also, brown goblinoid thing creeping from behind the wall.

Also, brown goblinoid thing creeping from behind the wall. Don't forget the fine specimen on our near left. Does this mean Annie will have a nice chat with those things, or treat them all to a nice neighbourly roast?

Yeah I know the creature on the near left is there. Also whoever those glowing eyes in the background belong to is huge, the shape back there might be the creature itself

Well, if it is, it might be of some difficulty in trying to share fireworks with.

As someone said in the thread for the previous chapter, it does have the vibe of Luke and Yoda and that area on dagobah.

I guess that these cheerful fellows don't count as "creatures of the Forest" by Ysengrin's reconing. Maybe they are human creations?

I think this may be the part of the forest where the things that go bump in the night live. If the forest contains the more benign creations of the human psyche, it only stands to reason that there be a place for the belligerent.

Ysengrin: [looking around] It's not that bad.
[Annie stares unbelievingly at him]
Ysengrin: Well, I'm not saying I'd like to build a summer home here, but the trees are actually quite lovely.

That's what I was thinking, it's full of things that dwell in peoples nightmares and fright stories.

Well this isn't so ba-aaaand there's a centipede, goodbye. This was essentially my reaction to this comic. I got the heebies the moment I laid eyes on the bottom right. In other words: Disappointed that there is no training montage to Eye of the Tiger. Perhaps here, Annie will discover something about Jeanne and her lover.

I wonder if Coyote would fear to tread here, although he probably has no reason to anyway.
Also, pfft on the centipede, I would be more worried about the sharp toothed goblin, the two bears, the brown goblinoid, and whatever the huge thing lurking in the background is.

It's... kinda weird how we prioritize what we think is least frightening on this page. For all I know, the centipede is a gentleman, and the goblin things just want hugs. Maybe this is where they throw the human-lovers.

There has to be a reason no one comes here, right? Haha.

"Ok, see you in the morning!"
Just because he wouldn't intentionally hurt her doesn't mean that he would prevent her from being in danger in the first place. That's not Ysengrin's style; he believes danger makes one stronger

Annie has been looking more and more like my ex-wife, particularly in her facial expressions for the last several pages.
I'm not sure how I feel about this.

Mad loves for the two-legs. Annie has been looking more and more like my ex-wife, particularly in her facial expressions for the last several pages. I'm not sure how I feel about this. Don't let that ruin this for you. Exes are exes for a reason, right? I feel like a hypocrite for trying to comfort you, because I'm currently feeling a bit haunted by an ex as well, just not quite in this context, but seriously.

When they're doing the testing at the very beginning and Will Smith shoots the little girl cutout instead of the alien cutouts? This is basically what he says.

Wow, I didn't really realize until now how tall Ysengrin is (in "standard mode" so to speak). Annie is literally standing on a ledge he has created on his lower arm, and she is STILL shorter than he is. Also, I think it's kinda cute that he's made a little spot that's just exactly right for her to stand on.

Oh, haha, for some reason I didn't realize my post could be taken that way. I thank you for the attempt to comfort, but it's fine, she and I have been done for a few years now, old news. In fact, this all just reminded me that I got a text from her last night that I need to answer . . . she's wanting to know some random movie stuff, like what the budget for Top Gun was. It's more along the lines of creepy "How the hell does Tom know what my ex-wife looks like?" It's weird that I didn't really notice until now that she and Annie even dress similar to each other. I might have to show her the comic at some point . . . though I'm sure she'll completely disagree that they look anything alike.
