I've got the idea that she has been noticing something peculiar already before, but has just now figured out what exactly it is. Maybe Annie made that Eglamore comment to not only tease Kat, but also to make sure that her hunch is right. Let's specify, there's the strip where Tom says "She doesn't know yet", but Kat seems indubitably suspicious and has noted something between the two before Paz's actual confession, so I think she might have been curious about what is happening between her friend and Paz - and figured it out in this strip, testing it with that Eglamore tease. |

They do make a cute couple. I'm just wondering if it's going to be only "puppy love" or if it leads to something more enduring? Regardless, I'm pretty sure they'll remain friends even if the romance fades.

On the Annie discussion, it does seem like she was testing the waters a bit, but we have to remember this is the same girl who missed the hint when Smitty and Parley had just gotten together.

I like the way Tom changes the detail of the faces depending on distance. People close up have very detailed faces while people in the middle distance just have "expressions" and those in the background are effectively faceless unless their expressions are required for the scene.
Somehow, this style "just works" for GC.
