Not sure if this is a legitimate title, though, but I didn't find any line in the comic itself, so I quoted Tom's message, which to me summed this up pretty well.

Although introduce a character just to destroy him/her seems pointless and very Marvel comics, I think this served a lot of story functions, concerning Rey in particular. And frankly, already when she was a doll, I did not feel much pity towards that psychopath Hetty. Come on, what "she" did to Adam, and how "she" justified it.... I was all "go for the kill, Rey, go!" Good boy, Rey, good boy.

Jesus, I liked Hetty. I don't mind if she's gone from the comic, but I hope she isn't dead.

But I would like to know if Hetty had some connections to Coyote. The allegations were, although maybe a little far fetched, nevertheless plausible, to my mind.

Seems legitimate to me.
So the Hettie interlude - slash - exposition of Renard's character development is now over and we're back to the real point of Renard's day out.
Whether we see what is behind the "click" door before we cut away from Reynardine, well...

Thank goodness. If I ever have to see that cracked face again it will have been too soon.
Although, something tells me we haven't seen the last of her.

Who's behind door number one? Tune in Monday to find out!

Pffft, like he'll actually show us instead of leaving us hanging for years.

If there was one Hetty there can be other Hettys (Hetties?) so... big deal. Plenty of fish-things in the sea. Maybe the next one will be nice. Until then Hetty can live on in fanart. Also I think I just got an answer to the question I posed about what happens to etheric spittle back in ch. 36 (Red gets a name).

...and, contrary to what I thought, he was 'going for the krill'!* It also looks like a case of 'achievement unlocked' (for not shrimping from taking a bisque?)
*puns aside, here's something else to ponder: is Tom going to be upping the casualty list this volume? (all we need is a Foley-centric chapter called "Red's Wedding" or something similar!)

I think this may be the last we see of Hetty alive, but I get the feeling we will see more of her in flashbacks or exposition in the future. Kinda interesting though, introducing a character in the chapter of their death, then explaining who and what they were later on. Does the door opening have anything to do with Renard killing Hetty? Was Daniel related to Adam and his sister?

Well, nice knowing you. I'm still worried about the burning though. Hope it just burns out without causing more damage. But then, as my A-Level Chemistry teacher once said: "Concrete doesn't burn!" (We had excessive problems with the fire alarm...)(He was a Kiwi. :3) I think this may be the last we see of Hetty alive, but I get the feeling we will see more of her in flashbacks or exposition in the future. Kinda interesting though, introducing a character in the chapter of their death, then explaining who and what they were later on. Does the door opening have anything to do with Renard killing Hetty? Was Daniel related to Adam and his sister? I really do hope that her character gets more explained, though. I mean, there's a number of things in GKC that's not explained, but I'm hoping Hetty isn't one of them. Wouldn't it be a shocker though, if it turns out that Hetty had a very large role in the overall GKC story? Now that, as I keep saying, would be interesting.

How I'm blind to the obvious (possibilities). I wrote that with Hetty being very significant in a different aspect in mind. Like, oh I dunno, she's involved with the tic-tocs or something. Kinda like that. (I know it's improbable, but that was an example... I don't know how that could be pulled off, but now I wanna see it D:) Or maybe she's involved with some sort of conspiracy involving Coyote and his memory-eating, Jeanne, and *gasp* the principal!

Hmmm... graphically killed on screen. Empty husk of her body burning. If ever we needed a guarantee of her showing up again ...

Well I'm not sure we'll see Hetty again seeing as Renard not only severed the connection between the doll and the spiritshrimp, but also tore the shrimp to pieces. To be honest, I like this outcome, and I'm not really interested in Hetty's past. I'm not sure these two had any real connection, to me Renard never seemed all that interested in her company. Rather it was the other way around and even that was because he could get stuff for Hetty.
Come on you old door, open faster! I wonder, how much should I brace myself for the next page?

Oh, one other thing... Anyone else think Renard will not tell Antimony about any of this, and will omit this incident or minimize it into irrelevance if she asks him what he's been up to?

I would be quite disappointed if Hetty came from nowhere and went nowhere in the course of a single chapter, just to provide a little exposition about Renard's motives. I hope that she'll make further appearances, either through miraculous survival or flashbacks. She would have precious little point if this was her only appearance. Fortunately, I doubt that Tom would succumb to such a crude method of storytelling.
