None is asking what this 'power' is...? I thought he just meant Antimony's powers as a fire elemental. Though we haven't witnessed the extent of those, so it's possible he has something in particular in mind. Considering that it's powers shared between two people, "hidden" is a little vague. He could be referring to Annie not coming into her powers, yet. Or, he could be talking about Surma, and a power only the Forest elite were privy to know.

Thanks Tom for this wonderful gift >tfw you realize you've been reading a comic for 8 years >tfw you realize you've been on the forum for 3 years >tfw you realize you're probably not even halfway doneYou just blew my mind.

I wonder if when Renard takes over a body, he can use all the powers a person has to the same extent they would have been able to. Maybe he can't, since his ability to take over a body is flawed. Or maybe he can be even more powerful, with the addition of his own etheric energy.

Thank god we can pick our shade out of a pallet wheel now. The old one was a choice between leaf green and an eye-splitting light pea color that was as bad as the straight yellow.

I've just thought - what if Renard STILL wants to kill Annie? Maybe he realised he'd missed his chance when he became contractually bound to obey her, and he's been waiting these two years for an opportunity to off her. And he's just been very good at lying through his teeth and concealing his motives.
It goes without saying that I hope this is not true.

Unlike real cookies, interent cookies taste much better if they're aged several years. He's almost certainly going to say "I was going to kill her and then I changed my mind" ya know. I don't think so... He looked pretty committed So there it is. (...unless he's trimming the tale to fit the audience?) (Still liked the theory that it was a feint to dupe Eglamore into thinking Rey had expired rather than possessing Annie's doll, and that his exclamation was the belated realisation that he'd be trapped) Don't think so either It looks more like once Rey leaves a body he cannot return, and the only body available was the toy. I don't think he intended to dupe McEggo, but he might've known that since the toy belonged to Ann he might be controlled.

I'm guessing the power he is referring to is the fire elemental...since he knew right away when seeing Annie that Surma had passed away.
That being said, I was always of the camp that thought he was aiming for the doll all along, so I relinquish all internet cookies I ever won.

You know you could have manually put in hex coded colors, right? The only one I have memorized is #000000. It would be pretty slow going. <nerd>The number refers to the brightness value of the RGB component of the pixel(s) in question. The first two digits refer to the red part, the next two for the green, and the last two for the blue. Instead of using base ten where the number rolls over to three digits after 99, the hex code uses base 16, giving you 255 brightness settings, plus completely off per pixel component. Hence, the counting goes 1, 2, 3, like normal, but after 9 it hits the next hexadecimal number, a. Then a, b, c, d, e, and f, and after f it goes to 10. This is actually numerically equivalent to what we would call 16 in base 10. Thus, the highest number possible with two digits, ff, is equal to 255 in base 10 and represents a fully on pixel component for that color. By simply knowing how to count in base sixteen, you can express any color you like.</nerd>

For instance, this color will have a tiny bit of red, a lot of green, and a fair amount of blue.
Voila.

I don't think he intended to dupe McEggo, but he might've known that since the toy belonged to Ann he might be controlled. I would point out that Rey quite explicitly took note of Annie's wolf earlier ( Who is your friend?) Why would he do that? It seems quite reasonable that he could subsequently form a plan to make a convincing play for Annie's body (for Eglamore's benefit), and go for the other item with eyes while faking his demise in the process. That theory is currently looking a bit shaky but, if Rey is tailoring this account for Hetty, I haven't totally given up on it.

Also, now that I'm thinking about it, why did Rey's ghost shape have the antimony symbol on his forehead before he got stuck in the toy? Nah man, that's the symbol for Mercury; it's associated with the body-stealing powers. Now I'm confused. Isn't it the same symbol as the chapter end?

No, the mercury symbol is a cross with a semi-circle at the top. The Antimony symbol is similar, but has an extra circle attached above the semi-circle. Compare the chapter end symbol with the symbol when Renard is attempting to posses the toy.

Rey's line has always struck me as an awkward attempt to change the subject, rather than a genuine interest in the doll. There's a handy dandy comparison of the antimony and mercury symbols right here.
