"Accident"? That's dark.

So many questions, answered all at once.
Highly unusual for a page of Gunnerkrigg Court.

Either this plot arc is going to end on an utterly heartwarming note, or a bitter and evil one.
From the look in Hetty's eye, I'm going with the latter.

Doesn't know you exist, doesn't excuse his neglect. Stellar logic right there, Hetty!

The "trio of dots" people have been proven right, much to my surprise. I wonder what alchemy symbol book Tom took it from. They seem to vary depending on the author of the chart.

The closest I can find for Adam's symbol of ownership of Hetty is sulphur, but it's somewhat different.

It looks like Hetty's using that expression because she blames Adam for his sister's death. I doubt that it's justified, though. But now I wonder; how Renard can seemingly know Hetty so well, but still know nothing about her circumstances? Has she been completely evasive about her ownership deal before, or did they previously meet when Adam's sister was still alive? You know what would be really creepy? If Hetty had been just an ordinary doll before the sister left it to Adam in her diary, and that somehow bound a part of her soul into it at the moment of her death, but not her actual memories of what happened.

Ahahah, love her already. I knew she was a little psychopath, and my expectations are completely fulfilled! I love this chapter more and more.

It looks like Hetty's using that expression because she blames Adam for his sister's death. I doubt that it's justified, though. Actually, it seems to me that Hetty was the one who caused the 'accident', and she's to blame for Adam's sister's death. In order to free herself from the contract, which the sister actually left to Adam.

The symbol without the dots looks like phosphorus, and the dots could be a slightly unusual way of depicting the 'essential oil' component. I'm not entirely sure what that would mean, though. Phosphoric acid? Does Hetty have her own brand of cola?

Uh oh, Accident in quotation marks, quotation marks are baaad.
I'm suspecting Renard was just humoring her as a fellow owned possessed doll thingie until now. Now it dawns on him she's actually insane.

Hetty suggests what Rey should do to Annie, and then mentions her ex-owner's 'little accident'? When will the penny drop for Rey?
Meanwhile, while folks wonder about alchemical symbiology, I'm wondering when the Jimmy the Coach notices the 'cheering crowd' on the wall.

I'm with Renard here: Hetty is lucky she doesn't have a body with metabolism... "too stupid to live" looks more and more to be the case.

I really don't understand how Adam has been "a terror" to Hetty or what "evil" could a child do to her, considering that he doesn't even know she exists.

Jesus. I didn't expect Hetty to have already murdered one child, but I'm not sure there's any other way to interpret that.

From what I can tell, it seems she was basically in the same boat as Renard. But, rather than just dealing with the situation, she plotted to have her owner killed, which was supposed to leave her without an owner and thus set her free. Except the girl left Hetty to her bro, who doesn't even know Hetty exists, and now she seems hellbent on murdering him next. That's my assumption, anyway.

And Hetty keeps getting crazier!
Okay, I got to feel a little sorry for Adam. First his sister dies, and then a bunch of "random" problems keeps popping up.

Look at him forlornly kicking that ball. That's a kid whose entire life has collapsed in on itself in a giant mess of pain and suffering(emotional and literal) and he has no idea why. I have a hard time believing he's done something to deserve that.

From what I can tell, it seems she was basically in the same boat as Renard. Yeah, this seems to be pretty clear, with that sign on her forehead and all. This once again begs the question of how many other creatures are trapped this way in the Court. " We are not as fortunate as you, Reynardine". Also, the fact she call him Reynardine makes me think they met in the Court, and not that long time ago. And on a side note: "we do not all have a simpering mistress who allows us to do as we please" "antimony hasn't issued me an order in a long time..." — "are you sure?" "of course he doesn't (know I exist)" Either someone is being insincere, or the boy has a habit of talking to inanimate objects. In phrases that can be interpreted as orders no less. Well objects he thinks are inanimate, but the point stays.
