I knew it! Adam is a kid! A bit older than I expected, but still.
Also, is this foreshadowing for a new look for Renard?

I think Hetty needs to be moved to a different doll body...

A trick I learned from my redneck friend is to use duct tape on the area: put on a strip, rip it off, put on a NEW strip, rip it of, et cetera ad infinitum. It works for me at least. Oh, and say goodbye to arm hair.
Probably doesn't do Adam much good, but useful to know.

THE MONSTER, REVEALED indeed.
Not only does Rey have an evil girlfriend, he has a shrill and emotionally abusive one.

You'd think the court doctors would catch on pretty quick. It looks like someone tried to boil him and partly succeeded.

You'd think the court doctors would catch on pretty quick. It looks like someone tried to boil him and partly succeeded. There's no reason for him to suspect that it's anything harmful. He probably won't tell anyone simply because he doesn't think it's significant.

It seems like it's being treated rather lightly by the narrative, but looking at the actual physical impact of Hetty's actions on a young boy and his body is deeply unsettling. She's causing physical damage to his skin, and the material she used to enact it can even cause lung cancer.
This is actually very dark and disturbing. It's making me rather uncomfortable, to be honest. Made even worse by the fact that he really seems to not know that what's happening is anything all that harmful. His obliviousness to the seriousness of the situation is rather spine-chilling.
I hope Rey doesn't let her continue with whatever she's planning. Needles, lighter fluid... Now that I have a face to put to the name, this is surprisingly uncomfortable to watch, much less think about.

Damn, that guy is obviously evil incarnate She said "Adam is nearby", do she and Adam have a special connection or can all possessed dolls feel the proximity to their owner? Also: Nice callback to this page

This page implies she might be eventually planning to kill him.

Look at those bags under his eyes, poor kid's not been getting enough sleep...
Also, it looks like Hetty's head size relative to her body changes depending on the level of zoom in a panel.

Wild guess: Rey has been contacted by authorities within the Court. They're suspicious about Hetty's behaviour and Adam's falling grades in school. As Rey knows Hetty they've contacted him to be a mole and to gather evidence to find out what's happening.
Want to know why Rey has been so compliant with all this horrible stuff so far? He's gathering facts and testimony.
End guess.
Anyway, I agree with one of the posters above. What we've seen from Hetty so far is pretty fucked up. Fair enough if Adam was a nasty adult but he seems like just a normal kid. Brrrrr...

"Normal" kids can play wicked games. On bugs, usually. Hetty did say Adam has trapped her.
On the other hand, I'm reluctant to trust anything Hetty says. Reserving judgment for now.

Who knows what evil lurks in the heart of men... or little men? Perhaps, Adam's method of discipline involves a Dobermann and Hetty being mauled like a ragdoll, while giving a big "Nooo!". Also, how did he "trap" her? He may well be normal or something far more dangerous? Oh, bitter-sweet waiting game.

If somebody could make a gif of the last panel zooming into Hetty's face, I would give them a cookie.

Maybe, when Tom said "The monster, revealed," he didn't mean Adam. Well, there's sort of a highlighted circle around Hetty, for what it's worth.

I am inclined to distrust Hetty, but on the other hand... What would a teenaged boy want with a small, talking, female doll? It remains possible that her emnity to Adam is more than justified. Not her words about Annie, though.

The doll (I'm assuming) belongs to Adam's sister, and said sister apparently gives Hetty more leeway than Adam does.
Possilities: 1) Adam not owning the doll means he only has limited control, same with his sister 2) His sister has been tricked (or "tricked") by Hetty into thinking she's a harmless prankster, and so is unaware of Hetty's real nature 3) Adam is secretly a jerk, and his sister lets Hetty get away with petty evil because she herself can't do anything about it 4) Adam's sister is secretly a jerk, and his sister lets Hetty have her revenge because she herself thinks it's amusing
EDIT: Apparently I was completely wrong.

Aw, that's terrible. Was not expecting it to be a kid. :/ I'm definitely with everyone who thinks Renard is helping the court out with this. If she'll be in more than just this chapter, that could create some problems.
