Ineffective against S-Models, or low on batteries?

Are the robots backing off in the last panel or is it just a perspective trick?
A bit confused, Annie looks worried about the gadget, but if they are backing off is it working?

Maybe the robots' hardware has been upgraded in the 20-something years that have passed since Ch 22, while Donny's disruptor hasn't been upgraded to account for that.

I'm still confused about what the robots hope to achieve with this strange plan. Why do they want Shadow 2 and Renard, and why didn't they just go after Shadow 2 on the rooftop? Or maybe this isn't a plan after all? More pages! Maybe the robots' hardware has been upgraded in the 20-something years that have passed since Ch 22, while Donny's disruptor hasn't been upgraded to account for that. Electronics has been known to fail in 20 years time, too. Unless it's etheric. Etherictronics?

probably the seraphs have also a different design, since they're fighters.

Also, drama seems to be infectious. It's the most s... er, the only subtle weapon they have.

I know the eye-color thing is not new, but the fact that seraph eyes can't change color... Maybe that's an indication that they're not from the same group as the other 'bots? Conversely- Maybe they're after robot because he isn't in the right designed frame for his robot "type"? Or for heavily consorting with nonrobots? It seems coming to terms with oneself and one's differences with others is a big part of Kat's arc,and that would fit in nicely.

Confirming, once again, the adults of the court are kind of dumb.

Next page starts with a seraph saying to Kat: "Ho-ho-haw! Your Jedi mind tricks don't impress me!"
The pip-pips are replaced with a bip-bip as a teleporting swordbabe springs to the rescue.
It ends with Annie asking Kat what a Jedi is.

Comedic moment notwithstanding, we may be about to see something awesome! Think about it: Seraph models + Shadow 2 (with his wings) about to get into a conflict, with Kat there to observe. If she had a major lightbulb moment just holding baby Cityface's wings, what could come of her seeing such a scene? :-D

But only if you really compare the size of their bodies. I didn't notice this until somebody above mentioned them looking like they had backed away a bit.

The other option is Kat is starting to back away....

Maybe the camera remains a fixed distance from Kat's shoulder as she backs away from the robots!

Annie sprung him from robot prison, remember?

Or, maybe, Annie will hellfire 'em into crispies before they even have a chance to do anything. Then she gives that really awkward look to a completely terrorized Kat and says: "Oops."

Anyone else worried that if the Seraphs succeed in arresting Renard then Annie will lose her ownership of him, freeing him to take any body he chooses?

I'm not sure I really think this, but it's a thought. Maybe this whole thing is just a medium test for Annie.

I'm not sure I really think this, but it's a thought. Maybe this whole thing is just a medium test for Annie. I wouldn't think so, it doesn't really have much to do with the forest at all. In fact the only supernatural creature involved is Shadow and he isn't even welcome back there anymore.
