If it's anything to do with dinosaurs being thin at both ends and fat in the middle...

'Humans are thin at one end, very, very much thicker in the middle, and thin at the other!'
...Oh, wait a minute! That's brontosauri*!!

Did Coyote just break the fourth wall? Actually Tom just broke the fourth wall. Now that's just asking for panel 3 in the last post to be given 3D treatment!

Coyote's Secret: He can reproduce asexually via budding, like amoeba.
Check out panel 3. Double trouble!

There is no way we're getting anything meaningful in a Friday page.

Perhaps, the secret is less important than the question "Who is Ysengrin angry with?"
If we find out he wears "Coyote's Secret" lingerie, and Ysengrin is angry because he can't, I'll never look at the Coyote/Ysengrin dynamic the same way.

He really, really wants to tell his secret to Annie.
... maybe it's not so much a secret as it is a spell or something. Maybe something that forces Annie to stay in the forest forever? I dunno, what would Coyote want?

Did Annie actually even tell him a story or did he just pretend she did haha This was never about him getting told a story. He knows all the stories about himself anyway. He just wanted to get his way. Which he did.

"ANNIE *I* AM YOUR FATHER" Actually this is instantly my new favourite wild speculation. Coyote manipulated Reynard out of the way so he could have a demigod baby with the lovely Surma, Zeus-style. No wonder Ysengrin is so angry!

Suddenly the lights go out...there is a gunshot...a woman screams...

Tom's made it clear that Antony is Annie's father, and there was never intended to be any doubt about it. (Though if he really wasn't, it might explain his coldness towards her - the result of his wife's infidelity.)
At least we won't have to wait through a few pages of retellings of old Coyote legends to get to the secret.

Coyote can read narration bubbles. Is there anything he can't do.

Annie narrated at the beginning of the story... Coyote's a god, so he can narrate in anybody's story, hah.

He really, really wants to tell his secret to Annie. ... maybe it's not so much a secret as it is a spell or something. Maybe something that forces Annie to stay in the forest forever? I dunno, what would Coyote want? This was the idea that occurred to me this morning before I came to check the comic. What if Coyote's secret is some sort of geis that compells servitude? That would certainly explain Ysengrin's anger, as well as Coyote's disturbing eagerness to enact it. It seems that whatever is going on, it had to be voluntary and a trade, like the bargain between Faust and Mephistopheles.

Does compelling obedience and servitude sound like something Coyote would do? Seems like a lot of work for him to go through when he could amaze the heck out of a person and convince them.
Has Tom ever broken the fourth wall before?

No no no.
We'll find out the secret friday alright. Don't doubt that, but it'll be cryptic and raise a thousand other implications that won't be explained or answered for 500 pages.
