So much for the monolithic, terrifying godface. I always knew he was snorting some serious drugs. (Might want to fix your link, btw)

Best. Panels. Ever.
Anyway, I have to agree with Annie, it's awful when Coyote talks to Ysengrin that way.

I think I have never laughed so much at a comic update as I did with this page. Especially the last panel! Ha!

Ysengrin needs some help. He's being abused. :c Also, Coyote's blue markings on his head warp into the shape of streaming tears when he cries.

I wonder how often Yis has ended up cradling Coyote in his arms and tell him to calm down. (Maybe that's why Coyote made them in the first place )

I'm telling ya, Coyote totally called her here to tell her the "great secret" and all the rigmarole before telling her is just to mess with Annie (and Ysengrin is in on it).

Attagirl Annie! Stand your ground! Also, Coyote's blue markings on his head warp into the shape of streaming tears when he cries. A bit like King RobotThe many faces of Ysengrin reveal a certain resemblance to Renard.

Finally someone stands up for Ysengrin (shame it isn't himself, but that's expected really, he's been bullied by Coyote for so long...).

Coyote is puking sick of Chuckles behaving like a simpering toady. He gave him a wood bod so he could catch some fire, and Annie she-of-the-fire-glands is his etheric zippo.

At first I was impressed by Ysengrin's expression of emotion. Now it's just weird. On the other hand, this adds another element to an already intriguing character interaction (Just what is Coyote to Ysengrin? And vice versa?). Coyote acts like a child now, but it's clear that he has a lot of insight and self-awareness, especially in this panel. Ysengrin has displayed similar levels of insight when he gives advice to Annie, which makes it all the more perplexing why he bows down to Coyote so much. I'm really looking forward to seeing how those two develop.

"My great secret is...that I have been diagnosed with a manic-depressive disorder."
Coyote looks like a cow in the last panel. Continuation for the bison horns in the previous page? Also, that's an amazing leap.

O.o wow bravo this isn't at all what I was expecting. Though I agree with what was said earlier, his entire plan was to tell her this "Secret"
What if all this nonsense was all about getting Ysengrin to open the hell up because he's so damn boring to Coyote. Which is prolly why he dogs..... heheh dogs... him so much.

This isn't exactly a perfect comparison, but Ys' behavior here is giving me flashbacks to Equius' behavior towards Gamzee in Homestuck.
Equius acts that way due to social hierarchy... what the heck is Ys' reason?
Man I think this is the first time I've really been interested in some character history in this comic.
Also damn, dem faces and dat body language. What a page.

Every time I think I have a grip on where the comic is headed, it turns out that I don't, and usually instantly.

I wonder how often Yis has ended up cradling Coyote in his arms and tell him to calm down. (Maybe that's why Coyote made them in the first place ) If I had to guess? Never. He normally doesn't blink at Coyote's shenanigans, I think he was well and truly caught off guard this time and he's completely unprepared to deal with it. Like in panel 3 the look he's giving Annie is something like, please help me I'm not remotely prepared to deal with this! The many faces of Ysengrin reveal a certain resemblance to Renard. It makes sense. Aren't they brothers or something? This is hilarious. I wonder what Coyote will be getting out of the situation. : D I'm not sure what he's getting out of this. I'm not entirely sure he knows either. I don't necessarily believe he's actually working from a devious plan like some posters have theorized. Maybe he's just really screwed up in the head.

Maybe he's just really screwed up in the head. Ah, where have I heard something like this before -- the powerful being as catalytic blunderer, taking life as it comes and leaving massive changes in their wake. This seems to be at least implicit in the Coyote mythos, and maybe in the Anansi mythos as well?

Anyone else thinking "What? Is Annie really falling for that?" ? Or maybe that's one of those cases when a bluff is so obvious it can't really be a bluff?

Ysengrin's expressions are freaking me out, we pretty much seen only "animalistic" faces from him before, this is new and confusing!
But Coyote's awesome back-leap is so great that I'm totally fine with this. And I'm actually kind of feeling sorry for Coyoters now... damn Annie, have a heart! Just one story!
This chapter's been something else.

Huh! Just realized we've seen the horns on the previous page before... www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=504and someone else pointed out how much moon!Coyote with horns resembles the alchemical symbol for bismuth. now that's a thing.
