Yes, that was about the most frustrating thing about that chapter. I always assumed that Zimmy had arranged some microbes to form a rude hand gesture, but "abomination" is a bit strong for that. It's not Tom's fault. The SCP Foundation wouldn't let him divulge any details about the event.

I don't think it's how Kat ALWAYS looks to Zimmy but rather how she looks at the present moment. Maybe she looks like someone else now? (maybe Ketrak hahah - okay that would make no sense) Why? Nobodies are memories, right? And Kat saw him once... ;D Alternatively, she's faking it, but that doesn't really seem right. Again, it does: suppose Zimmy is concerned that Kat will catch something from her. She may even be genuinely afraid of the possibility. For one, Zimmy's still where she landed after a demonstration of what Antimony can do over mere "yer dad's a jerk". Annie may be nice most of the time, but giving her a good reason to be upset doesn't look well right now. I think the contact with Annie's mind and the multiple Jacks made Zimmy unstable, so she has started seeing weird things Continued to see weird things.

I really like Zimmy. She will take risks to help her friends. And I understand her defensiveness and spiky character. We have little knowledge of what is happening in her life apart from snippets when she interacts with Anne. I will admit to not being a huge Anne fan (I prefer Rey and Cat) and I am kinda miffed that it is implied Zimmy is an "insect". Tom really likes Zimmy. He created Zimmy first, before he created Annie. His self-portraits are also very zimmyish, with black shadowed eyes, spiders, and sharp teeth.

Huh, I think I'll reread this chapter once all of it's posted, the way the focus keeps shifting seems weird on page to page basis, but maybe it sets this awesome erratic mood once you read it in one sitting? Anyway, my most poignant thought on the page was going "Awwww" over panel 6 Zimmy looks too cute there! Good thing Gamma's there for hugs. Zimmy's reaction switched very suddenly, last page she was still laughing... A lot of the ideas in the thread so far do make sense, but I'm gonna toss a guess that when Kat got close to Zimmy she got sucked into Zimmingham and this is her own hallucination. /dartboard

It's not Tom's fault. The SCP Foundation wouldn't let him divulge any details about the event. SCP-1175 is a virulent, unknown organism. It utilizes a method of energy production not yet fully understood, which is neither photosynthesis, aerobic or anaerobic respiration. Upon contact with healthy human tissue it proceeds to [DATA EXPUNGED], and within six days (+/- a matter of minutes), the subject is transformed into [DATA EXPUNGED], with large, wet protuberances [DATA EXPUNGED] growing [DATA EXPUNGED] from every [DATA EXPUNGED]. Only known instance was removed from a student science fair at [DATA EXPUNGED], a British alternative boarding school, for analysis and containment. All further details are classified. Taxonomy work is credited to [REDACTED], who committed suicide soon afterwards in dubious circumstances. All further inquires are to be forwarded to the Department of █████████.

I think the phrase "next Wednesday" should henceforth mean "the time at which everything weird about GC will be explained". Example of usage: "I guess we'll find out next Wednesday." Example of usage on a Wednesday: "Huh. I can't wait until next Wednesday when this will all be explained."

I've been thinking about Zimmy's reactions, and I really doubt that she'd pretend to be scared to make a jab at Kat. For one thing, she's upset enough that Gamma takes notice. But more importantly, that goes against her modus operandi for being prickly and sarcastic. Zimmy uses bravado and insults to cover up her fears, she doesn't pretend to be afraid to insult people.

'Those little insects are always more scared of you than you are of them' Maybe Kat looks like Ketrak to Zimmy?

I think the phrase "next Wednesday" should henceforth mean "the time at which everything weird about GC will be explained". Example of usage: Tom already got a term for this: "Remains to be seen".

Tic-toc link is intriguing (They're *not* a Gunnerkrigg artefact btw: origin unknown) I don't have a link handy, but I believe Tom said somewhere that the Tic-Tocs were built with Court technology. Which doesn't necessarily mean that they're actually working for the Court.

I cringed at the improper use of "effecting", but soon it was all good ;D
