Hi, I've been following Gunnerkrigg Court for just over a year now, and I look forward to every page! I made this account around this time last year and left it to gather dust shortly after posting in the Wild Speculation thread. (I have been lurking the forums, however -- just without an account!) I'm wondering what happened to Formspring search, which used to be located at chrysoprax.org/gunnerkrigg (or something like that). It's not just the Formspring search that's down, either; the whole Chrysoprax site seems to be gone. Was the Formspring search relocated, and if so, where? It seems quite daunting to sift through the thousands of questions Tom has answered, and the search was a very useful tool. Thanks, Clouds

I don't know what's up with chrysopax's site.
But, until it gets fixed, it's possible to use google to search within a specific website. So, if you precede your search term with "site:http://www.formspring.me/gunnerkrigg", it will just search within Tom's formspring posts.

It's been this way for over a year now. I sent him a message but got no response. At the very least I would like to grab a hold of the database and application so I could run it myself.

I was already using Google to search through the answers, actually; I guess I should have mentioned that in my first post. However, it was definitely much more convenient to use a search engine like Chrysoprax's. Thanks for your responses!

Hello -
I was the maintainer of chrysoprax.org. I'm really sorry for disappearing on you all, but after the server I was running it off of died, I realized I just didn't have time to do this - 2011 was a very busy year for me! Formspring also didn't have a functional API at the time, which meant I had to scrape the HTML - so whenever Formspring changed, I had to change the program. With Formspring's API in public beta, it's definitely possible that chrysoprax could return.
I'd also be happy to send the search program and database to anyone interested in running it (it's all Perl). Max - I didn't see any messages from you. Did you email it, or send it as a PM?
Again, sorry I didn't tell you guys it would be going dark, and I'm glad to see it's been useful. Cheers!

Yes, necro, but seems like it's broken again. Guessing it's not likely to be fixed seeing Adam was last online in 2012 Would there happen to be an offline copy of the q/a anywhere?

I have only a handful of searches saved ; did you try to email him? The registration expires 2015-08-03.

Seems to be working again. Not sure what happened, the site itself was working but the search was leading to blank pages in every browser I tried :I
Though in the long run it might be helpful to centralize, I've noticed the index page is updated with about the same regularity as the comic..

Hello all! My hosting company upgraded their servers, and in the process, broke database compatibility - blargh!
I've restored an earlier version of the database, which is unfortunately not quite up to date. When I have time, I'll see about rescuing or rebuilding the broken one.
