No matter -- she can always blink it back, if he does. That adds a pretty interesting layer to the romantic connotations of giving someone your stone - you can't blink it back if they decide to run off with it. Took me long enough to notice that. Again... she hasn't given him the stone. It's not a romantic gift. She let him try it. She can get it back, if she hasn't already, regardless of Jack's actions or intent.

I am just going to state that we know NOTHING about how blinker stones work; for all we know, its possible for a stone to have multiple persons who can blink it back to their hand. It could well be that blinking a stone back to ones hand is as much a matter of being attuned to it, for lack of a better phrase, than it is about being the legitimate "owner" of is.

We do know enough in this case to make some pretty good guesses. Anja needed her own stone to be able to blink it away from Kat, or she would probably have done it with Annie's stone, instead. Granted, Anja could use it to make the signal, so I'm not utterly certain of my ground, here... We also know that they have to be given willingly and knowingly, not taken or found, since she's had to retrieve it from Jack, before, and she has let others carry it around without granting them any power over it.The only time she's had any trouble with it was with Jeanne, and there's so much etheric power bound up in that character that all bets are off. :)

At first I thought Jack was playing hard to get.
He's done one better and now he's playing hard to like.

Zimmy seems to tolerate Annie a lot more than anyone else these days. She's even been relatively friendly (for her). Zimmy chases away everyone for their own safety - why she would stop? Annie proved she can deal with it. Moreover, in a pinch she can help Zimmy, which in turn allows Gamma some sleep time in bad times. It's far from random or unconditional thing... we'd be working on the assumption that eventually Jack could be worked into her little world of "safe people." ...and the interesting part of it being that while Jack isn't powerful enough to afford this yet, now the path is open, so he may eventually become, and thus achieve much the same status as Annie. Also remember that Gamma literally keeps Zimmy sane, despite the fact that Gamma is not required to do anything for her. Potentially, Gamma keeps Zimmy alive as well. Anyone who does that for ME on a day-to-day basis And now let's look at the landscape from Jack's roof. Zimmy tried to keep him out of the trouble and after he stuck anyway she saved him from at least insanity and possibly some fate worse than plain death as well. Why not to appreciate this? Also, while herself being in the situation beyond catastrophic without any visible way out she still cares about others this much. Why not to admire this? So there may be a lot of mostly legitimate feelings, just badly mixed-up. I hope he attempts to sum her up in the next strip. It would be interesting to hear what others in the Court think about her, given the more limited insights into her that they have. Jack is very far from "others in the Court" in this respect. Why is he being a jerk-ass right now? I was kind of under the impression that he was a pretty nice guy, who only acted like a jerk when under the influence of the spider. He's not a jerk, he's overexcited and mildly incoherent. Then again, why there should be no traces at all after he was so profoundly messed up by the spider? Of course, he's unstable. It's going to be a long way to talking about spiders or Zimmy without making weird faces and random mental jumps... Maybe not before he collects non-trivial experience sum total comparable to his sleepless time. And why not? Jeanne. We don't know the rules of GKC. Yes, but the simple theory: Jeanne was its owner herself. This explains how she appeared on the other side and Muut didn't say where he picked it up, but said it's a way to help Jeanne.

Jeanne. We don't know the rules of GKC. We do know that she can get it back from Jack, because she's done it before. She hasn't given it to him (we know that, too), so it's still hers. Oooh, just noticed. I didn't say Annie gave it to Jack or that the stone is now somehow Jack's, I said, "Jack might have some power now that might impede Annie's attempts to retrieve it etherically." Which of course means nothing but us here at the GKC forums do like making theories, yes? ^^ And I write this in a totally serious way (really). Before someone takes it as offensive. : P
