So... Kat has been thinking about growing a robot?

Robot, stalking is bad. Even though Diego did it. ...Especially because Diego did it.

Speaking of Robot and Kats idea, I wonder if the court robots can feel jealousy. Also, Robot is coming across as slightly creepy considering his earlier comment.
Kat is also sitting kind of precariously on the ledge.
Anyways, the concept of organic buildings does exist and would be pretty cool. Maybe Kat is going to merge biology (or at least biomimicry) with technology in the future? Could be a way of bringing the court and the forest (technology and nature/biology/life) together in a sort of harmony.
I wonder if this is shadowing Toms views on ecologically friendly buildings or even merging organic 'components' or something.

You know, I think the artwork on this page is really well done. Can't put my finger on exactly why but I really like it.

In other words, Kat is thinking about making a cyborg out of S13. Who seems to be developing a slightly disturbing fixation on her. What could possibly go wrong!

Neat, my little guess from way back when might be true after all. Makes me wonder if the Court has to build facilities or if they just grow/erect themselves ready to go.
Oh, and I can't wait for Kat to "grow" a body for Robot using tech. Fun times ahead.

The forest would probably find technological manipulation of life rather offensive.

Only if Ysengrin leaves them in a little pile under a 10 ton ACME anvil suspended by a rope... Tic-toc == beep beep? ;D

Hmmm.... if the court grew from bismuth seeds, and Ysengrin tried to plant some kind of seeds in the court... I wonder what exactly THOSE seeds were supposed to do?

Speaking of Kat and Diego... does anyone else feel like there may be a connection between the two? Like maybe distantly related? Or... something? I feel like there is an odd connection between them... and that a similar scenario in the past may soon resurface...

People keep saying "cyborg", but I don't think that's it. Kat's previous "exploded diagrams" have been her thinking about how to replicate biology with metal. I don't think she's trying to integrate cells and electronics . . . I think she's trying to make electronics that work like cells do.

Well, she said she was trying to make an android.
Then again minds change and she was trying to connect human nerve cells with the air conditioner's structure in the last page. And she is suggesting she had the idea to connect "growing" to a robot.

Looks like soon we will see what is Seed Bismuth... Well, she said she was trying to make an android. May be that will be new body for Robot?

I wonder if Kat's planning to make a new body for Robot, or an entirely new robot (android?). I thought it was the latter when I first read the page, but who knows.

Well, she promised him a new body, to replace the one that is "cobbled together from spare parts". I tend to do that, working out a project in my mind and then learning from doing it or from noticing something unrelated that I want to use another approach. I wake up in the middle of the night thinking "oh, that's how to do it...", and sometimes I can trace back to what triggered it, sometimes I can't.

It's partly that, I think, but I also like the way the characters are drawn a lot.

I believe Kat will be the one to figure out how Diego's robots move but I don't think she can do it without Annie's help. Diego managed to combine technology with the etheric... maybe he had someone like Annie back in his day.

In the last panel I can almost hear robot thinking:
"And so it begins."

I bet Shadow is with him...
Robot doesn't have any robot-y responsibilities... he's free to do whatever he chooses. I think most robots have a job of some kind.

Speaking of free will in robots, we have seen the other GC robots exhibit some free will (whether it's complete free will or not, isn't clear), but do we really know for sure if Robot has more free will than the others if they don't have truly complete free will?

The Court being grown makes a lot of sense. Explains why there are so many buildings for so few people.

The perspective seems a bit off on this one. The roof they're sitting on has enough of a wall to hide all but the girls head and shoulders(panel 1). That looks right for the height Kat's sitting in panel 6, but looking at the edge of the roof, it looks about 6 inches high at most.
If someone drew a box under Kat's butt in panel 6, it would look like there's barely any wall at all.
