Also Annie has a normal shirt on and her hair isn't tied back into a ponytail. Was hoping she would keep the new hairstyle for a couple of chapters.
I wonder if this was an impromptu fan requested thing with this strip?

There's no way Reynardine won't like it (and then ask for princess Mononoke toys so that Hellboy, Mulder and Batman Professor Oswald will have someone else to hang out with)

Who'd Rey hear that from? Elgamore?

I approve of Miyazaki references in Gunnerkrigg Court. They should show him Spirited Away next.

"Geeze, fine Reynardine!" (puts in subbed version) "There, now you can read it."

;D ;D ;D Renard as always great! And Annie... Ahaha) Gorgeous page! P.S.: Very beautiful and awesome page!!!!!! But I'm little sad, because this page isn't in full-color... Also: Looks like now Rey have her full trust and he has big influence on her. And it's not surprising, after all, he, actually, has replaced to Annie her father. And becoming a part of her family, it's real fact. "Geeze, fine Reynardine!" (puts in subbed version) "There, now you can read it." +5 to you for that)

I notice that the mouseover text is "Miyazaki Theatre 1." Perhaps Spirited Away is next?

This. She's so seriously worried about brain rot, it's adorable. It's not serious worry, it's naivete. Remember what an incredibly sheltered childhood she's had. This is the same girl who had never played a video game until Kat threw her headfirst into Grand Theft Auto.

I notice that the mouseover text is "Miyazaki Theatre 1." Perhaps Spirited Away is next? Or Howl's Moving Castle, or Laputa (Castle In The Sky), or Nausicaa, or My Neighbor Totoro. Although Renard might be especially affected by the post apocalyptic.... world (trying not to spoiler it) of Nausicaa. This. She's so seriously worried about brain rot, it's adorable. It seemed more like she hadn't really heard the term used before. zylonbane: You'd think they would have video games or computers for the kids at the hospital, then again, we don't really know.

Its possible that Annie never interacted with a personal computer while in hospital. She would be very familiar with them because they're everywhere but she wouldn't have been allowed to interact with them.

Haha, such a cute page!
I've yet to see Princess Mononoke, but I'm going to watch it with my girlfriend later this the Easter. Nice coincidence!

Heh, Annie asking, "Really?" as if it were true Don't worry, if animated pictures won't do that, Rey will make this) By his clever councils.

I'm honestly impressed that nobody in this thread has (yet!) asked why today's strip is drawn the way it is.
Although for the truly authentic effect all the lines should have been drawn about three times thicker, and had the speech ordered right-to-left.

I actually checked in to ask this question, but you've answered it. Thanks. [And don't worry, Rey — watching anime is nowhere near as bad as reading online comics....archive crawls, ugh.]

Yeah, I've actually been wondering about that since 3 AM. I was like, "Why has nobody mentioned this? I suppose I've only just now caught up to the current page - maybe the pages get drawn like this and then colored in the next day day something." Then I went and started trying to find anything in the forums about such a thing. The forums search feature is defunct, by the way. That, or I can't figure out how to use it. So, anybody have any ideas why it's drawn in such a fashion today?

I thought it was drawn in the style of Metal Gear Theatre a ways back. erhannis: The forum search has been defunct for a while, I guess Tom either doesn't know how to fix it or he hasn't bothered to.

Today's strip is drawn somewhat in the style of a manga comic.

Okay, there went my being impressed. Today's strip is drawn somewhat in the style of a manga comic. I did think that after you said about making it more authentic, but since I don't read manga, I didn't recognize it as such before you had said that.

I thought it had something to do with Metal Gear Solid Snake since last time Kat was playing that game, but I'm pretty clueless about that too. I'm guessing its manga related.
