Yeah, Annie's definitely gone native there. Unless Robot talks some sense into her, her next plan will probably involve making her hair go up.

Good to see Robot still has his sweat glands and tear ducts.

Yes, of course, this plan wasn't convoluted enough. That's why it didn't work.

Not necessarily. Also, her hair is about long enough (and the right color) to pull a WICKED Jessie from Team Rocket if she tried.

Oh, fairy logic. At least we know she learned something in the forest aside from barefoot parkour!
...What's that, Robot? Got a bit of a crush, there?

I think he's trying to drop a hint, which Annie is just barely picking up on in that last panel.
Edit: It's rather ironic that Robot seemingly has a better understanding of social interaction / Kat's feelings than Annie.

Her hair sorta goes up already. Seriously, her ponytail has been defying gravity since the start of the chapter.

Dissatisfying to you, perhaps. Personally, I am enjoying Antimony not being the wunderkind who solves everything without breaking a sweat.
Time for her to learn that there's some times you have to tone it down, lay low, and hold back.

I don't know, this just doesn't feel right- i say the Annie we see here is Coyote in disguise while the real Annie is somewhere hanging out with Ysengrin. Also: Helloooo!

LAUGHING ON LINE) Also: Looks like Robot have lovely feelings to Kat... That didn't work out too well :/ So Robot has a crush on Kat, hmmmmm I think so too, but also it's necessary to notice that all GC's robots think that Kat is very beautiful, just like real angel. Also, I am glad Gunnerkrigg Court still has a long way to go, because yesterday, Digger ended ;_; Me too. And I hope that when this story will end, the new story will begin and rise up.

While being away from the computer I went through a rather rambling thought process: I guess this is what you get from hanging out with Coyote for too long. Maybe she should try juggling her eyeballs - that's a pretty neat trick. - actually that sounds like a rather terrible trick if you're not a god or somesuch. Well, she is part fire elemental... Maybe she could put her eyeballs on fire, then juggle them. - while having her hair go up of course. That would definitely get her into Chester - sounds like a concept for an amusing piece of fan art... Sorry.

This is a quite interesting take, psychologically. It appears that Annie’s new outgoing personality is not actually a development, but rather a replacement; an adopted behaviour. She displays emotions, but she still doesn’t understand how these emotions communicate to other people — just as was the case when she used to be reserved to the point of aloofness. Alexandragon: Cheers to the southern neighbour!

Personally, I am enjoying Antimony not being the wunderkind who solves everything without breaking a sweat. Was Annie ever truly one? She seemed that way at the start; it certainly comes close to how I thought of her when I began reading the comic. But when I take a closer look at her record in the early chapters (which most gave that impression), I'm not so certain. She succeeded in getting Shadow2 back to Gillitie Wood, but her plan got Robot possessed and angered the forest-folk (not to mention that Shadow2 wound up deciding to live in the Court after all). Her attempt to investigate Reynardine in Chapter Three almost got her possessed, and only Eglamore's intervention saved her life. She helped Mort scare Paz, but Mort's never succeeded in scaring anyone on-stage again. I think that Annie may have believed she was extremely capable of handling anything after helping Martin, and came to the Court with an exaggerated notion of her ability (without realizing it). Maybe that's why Annie appears so omni-competent at the start of the comic - so that we can share in her shock when things fall apart.

I actually think Kat took that pretty nicely. She could have been deeply offended that Annie would try to manipulate her emotions like that. Maybe she assumed it was meant as a joke (and while writing that I came to think of her comment, which even is the title of this thread )

Welcome to the boards, masheen! You're right, Annie definitely feels different -- but I don't think she feels THAT different! If it really were Coyote in disguise, I would expect more ;D and less moments. Coyote is powerful, sure, but I don't know that he'd be able to drop his cool and play awkward intentionally. I don't think his pride would let him do it!
