And there have been 11 Doctors to choose from Actually if you want to get technical there's more like 15 to choose from; the eleven 'true' incarnations, The Valeyard, the Dream Lord, the Doctor-Donna metacrisis, and Jenny the female clone of Ten. Plus if we're counting the metacrisis then Donna would be the other half of the human/time lord combo, bringing the count to 15-and-a-half Doctors, give or take. Actually, Dr. Who would've been my second guess, but I have to admit that I haven't watched enough to remember which Doctor was the Third off the top of my head. That would be Jon Pertwee. .... Don't look at me like that. WE ALL HAVE OUR VICES DAMMIT.No vice in my book! *hands you a huge bag of jelly babies*

I'm not really sure what to say about this. Other than the fact that it is hilarious and cute.

Less drama, Annie. She wants less drama.

anyone else notice how annies fire has changed colour? I'm not sure that's fire. I don't think it would do much good to set Robot on fire? I think it's a force field, or something similar. My guess is her actual fire would still be fire-coloured.

Perhaps Annie should have asked Kat to eject Robots warp coils? I enjoyed this episode, Annie has changed a lot. She's a lot more energetic and spontaneous but she still cant quite find the right way to behave in this situation, it's not one she's been in before.
Still, it was a bloody good try. Even feeling the way Kat does, I would have at least had to crack a smile. You can see the court/forest divide echoing in them both at the moment. Kat has never believed that magic is just magic and Annie doesn't have the slightest clue about technology.

He worshipped this new angel with furtive eye, till he saw that she had discovered him; then he pretended he did not know she was present, and began to "show off" in all sorts of absurd boyish ways, in order to win her admiration. He kept up this grotesque foolishness for some time; but by-and-by, while he was in the midst of some dangerous gymnastic performances, he glanced aside and saw that the little girl was wending her way toward the house. Tom came up to the fence and leaned on it, grieving, and hoping she would tarry yet awhile longer. She halted a moment on the steps and then moved toward the door. Tom heaved a great sigh as she put her foot on the threshold. But his face lit up, right away, for she tossed a pansy over the fence a moment before she disappeared.

Yay! Annie is the more social one now. and she is diffidently sporting a more fun personality. I'd say she is over the death of her mother and is acting like her normal self. and Fully Accepted the Gift her Mother gave her. no more stoic like her father and all business. We have Annie Back !!!!!!!
Yay! acting awesome like a Forest Girl!
Too Bad Kat does not seem amused. she must be really pissed off at Annie about being ditched for the summer. And I think this act just ended up being a new wedge.

Hrm, if her mothers spirit transferred to her, then I wonder if she can access her mothers memories and her grandmother, her grandmothers mom, and so on until the fire elemental, Bene Gesserit style from Dune.
It would make an awesome storyline for Tom to use. No idea if he is a fan of Dune though and we're missing melange anyways.

Are you all reading a british comic or not?? Reversing the polarity was the fix-anything catchphrase of the Third Doctor. Honestly, people. So that's what Annie did in the forest - she and Ysengrim took in a Doctor Who marathon!

Oh, goodness... I would be forced to forgive Annie out of sheer awkwardness. And then I would tell her never to try that again.

Someone needs to tell Antimony that she's crap at lying, changing the subject, or making stuff up.
If anything she just widened the rift between them.

I can't believe I forgot to read today's page earlier, because I saw Tom's tweet and read Gastrophobia instead. Come to think of it, it's a pretty cool twist. A lot of people were predicting Annie rescues Kat / vice versa. Tom had the same thought, because it's a fairly common mechanism in storytelling. So instead of playing it straight, he has Annie have that idea, and attempt-- with hilarious results-- to manufacture such a situation herself. I'd call that a pretty nifty subversion of a trope! (Sorry Tom, I've heard you don't like TVTropes.) More like an invoked trope than a subverted one, if you ask me.

Bahaha, the Doctor Who reference is awesome, totally wasn't expecting that. I guess that's Annie's version of the swirly etheric stuff that surrounds people like Muut, Ketrak, Zimmy, Coyote, etc. I like that it's the same color as her hair Looks like Kat is not impressed...actually if she takes it the wrong way, Annie kinda looks like she's showing off her new forest skills...

In any case there is one thing to say for sure, stay in the forest did her a world of good, You would not have imagined ol'Antimony pull out something so ... ridiculous (and I say it in the best possible way. Whatever you think of the recent developments it is nice to see her acting more like a girl of her age.

<snortmeowLMAO> I love this page. Superhero-ing Annie, Kat giving her "I am very disappointed in you, Boxbot" look and Annie's "i'm not slipping, i'm floating". <trying to do a 10x facepalm with eyestalks> Oh. Dear. Our future is a madhouse and we all are movin' in Half a cookie to whoever mentioned possibility of Annie jumping to rescue Kat from something. Also: remember how Mr. Eglamore echo-ed his predecessor's remark? And now this jump... How DID you know he was possessed anyway, Annie? Hrrrrmmmm? She "fears" it. The problem is, Annie can see this and Kat knows she can. Though she could just remember the bridge incident and overreact. All that's missing is a facepalm moment. Yes. But look at the bright side: this leaves a chance that we'll see facepalming Jones on the next page! Robot just happens to be no good at roleplaying, except when he was fighting the bull thing. No, not even then. S13 acted as a scripted puppet in that piece of choreography. And it was seen through anyway. I don't think the "splish" could have been Annie-- there's no indication in the panel that she's wet. One word: Fire. (And if her feet were wet, that awesome leap-up-onto-the-railing-then-the-wall might have gone quite badly!) Again, one word: Flight. GOOD GOD ANNIE WASH YOUR FEET BEFORE STANDING ON THE HANDRAILS. Auauuauauuughgh I need hand sanitizer. <shrug> cleanse it with fire... "reversing his polarity" would have totally worked in dozens of episodes. Reversing the polarity was the fix-anything catchphrase of the Third Doctor. Honestly, people. No, no, it's from Matrix Evangelion. Because everything is. .... Don't look at me like that. WE ALL HAVE OUR VICES DAMMIT. " Don’t judge me!" He worshipped this new angel with furtive eye Would be more fitting with the previous page.

Just wanted to let Tom know that I am impressed with his artwork and the effort he puts in it. What made me realize this is when I compared panels 4 and 6 of Kat "staring". I saw that they were actually 2 different drawing, whereas most artists would have simply copy and pasted that expression or do an exact replication *cough*DaveSim*cough*, you went all out and re-illustrated it. Don't think these "little" things go unnoticed. Keep up the great work... can't wait til book 3 comes out in publication ;-)

SpitefulFox: Only problem with that is that Tom keeps a 30 day (30 comics or just a months worth?) buffer. 30 pages, about 3 months' worth of updates. Are you all reading a british comic or not?? Reversing the polarity was the fix-anything catchphrase of the Third Doctor. Honestly, people. So that's what Annie did in the forest - she and Ysengrim took in a Doctor Who marathon! Was this about the same time that Ysengrin tried to explain what Jones is? ...Jones is a Time Lord?

Correction that doesn't affect your point: Annie has shown in the past that she can make fire that doesn't burn. We don't know if she can also start normal fires.
