I've been putting off buying all the treatises until I could find frames for them, and with the coming of the fourth treatise I'm really anxious to go ahead with it all. But, I can't find any 11 x 16 frames that aren't super nice antique oak lined with gold and baby tears, that consequently cost five million dollars a piece. What have you guys used to frame them?

I've thought about starting a thread like this myself, Naamah, because I've been wondering what those who do have the prints have done with them. I don't have any of the prints yet, and part of it is because I want some simple, inexpensive frames for them. I have found a few solid black 11x16 frames for a little under twenty dollars, but that's still too expensive for me right now. I have seen some cheaper 11x17 frames, but I'm not sure how it would look with the bit of extra space. I wonder if most people either mat the prints or just don't use a frame. I forget what size is treatise prints again? All of the Gunnerkrigg prints are 11" x 16" (28x41cm).

Since it's $56 for the four prints, plus shipping, I can't really shell out twenty bucks a frame!

Quick search on Wal-Mart.com... www.walmart.com/ip/Mainstays-Picture-Frame-with-Glass-Set-of-3-11-x-17/10404231Twelve bucks for three of 'em. Not a fan of Wal-Mart, or plastic exterior frames (at least the panels are glass), but if you want cheap, Wal-Mart is where to go. I've used them for posters before, in my dorm room (they're good for when you want to frame a nice poster, but you're not an a-dult yet, so you don't want to spend too much). They look alright. P.S. I realize they're an inch long, but it's really easy to just float the prints on a black background. 11x16 is kinda a custom size.

What of the English? hmm Asda is owned by Wal-mart, I'll see if they sell same frames or similar. Wouldn't be surprised if they do. the rest of Europe I don't know. Has anyone thought of checking a place that specialises in photography or paintings? they are bound to have frames, maybe even reasonably priced ones. oh n asda does sell wooden frames with plastic instead of glass protection though for about £9-£15 IKEA is worldwide and reasonably priced why nobody checked there? www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/20152592I'd expect similar prices worldwide n I'd say that is a good price.
