Annie, sweetie, I love you and have the greatest respect for you, but come on, girl! He's Coyote! Of course he's going to see into your dreams!
Not that he learned anything he didn't already know, I suspect.
Sheesh, looking into your dreams is basically what you came into his forest for him to do!
===
Also, I love Annie's pose in frame 2. It's got an Alice thing going for it.

Well, he's Coyote. He's all about DOGSKULL in your dreams.

I have to respect Annie in this page. She is still upset, but still able to act as usual in Coyotes presence.
I can see this going two ways. A) Coyote helps (in his own way) Annie find a resolution for her problem and she goes back to the court. Or B) Annie asks Coyote if she can stay in the forest, and she returns after the summer break.

You know, it occurs to me that the skull was Coyote's way of announcing his presence in Annie's dream. He knows vaguely what it was about, in the way you might catch the drift if you came on someone talking to themselves, but he made his presence known, and didn't get the details.
He may actually not be able to not look into dreams.
(Although I should warn that Tom has shot down every surmise I've made on formspring.)

I don't think she'll stay in the woods for the summer. She might not give a damn what Eglamore wants from her, but she would probably listen to Kat (and not want to hurt her feelings by backing out of their summer plans).
Coyote might soothe her in some bizarre Coyote way, and in the process give us more information about Surma's gift/curse, how she got with Anthony, and why Anthony disappeared. Maybe even something about Annie's future place at the court and in the woods.
Or he might talk about random junk.
Either way, I think there will some sort of plea from the court for someone to come to the woods to talk with/about Annie.

I think Coyote will disappoint her with the way he deals with this. He might hurt her even more.

In terms of endings, I just feel like that whole thing with Jack staying at the court with his Dad will play into it somehow. I don't think anything will happen between them, but that whole conversation (if you can call it one) Annie had with Jack at the start of the chapter feels like a setup for SOMETHING. I don't know, and I'm sure Tom will surprise me.

You know, it occurs to me that the skull was Coyote's way of announcing his presence in Annie's dream. That seems to make sense to me. Has anyone else noticed the detail being drawn to eyes since Annie entered the forest? Even the coyote skull is mostly eyes. I can't quite pull a meaning from it right now but maybe it will only be revealed later.

Sheesh, I was wondering about what was up with that skull. Didn't even know it was a coyote skull.

I'm surprised so many people seem amused by Coyote poking into Annie's head like that. I found it very intrusive and insensitive, especially given her current circumstance.
But that's Coyote.

Its a matter of accepting people (and other beings) as they are instead of how one feels they should be. Coyote is an insensitive trickster and Ysengrin is a major grump. There's no reason to expect otherwise and they're fine as they are.
I think Annie does accept both as they are and I liked her reaction: "Just cut it out, Coyote"

I notice that Coyote looks a lot more... etheric than usual. He's not his normal mostly-dog-shaped-self, but then he's not the abstract teeth-and-stars thing he usually sports on the other side. Maybe the two worlds are bleeding together a bit, at least in Antimony's perception.

Then I guess Annie is a huge bitch (bluh bluh) for giving out the spankies when Coyote stuck his nose up her skirt. I do think that looking into someone's dreams would be terribly intrusive, but -- in jayne's defense -- Annie had not previously met Coyote. Besides being unacquainted with his nature, she was startled by his sudden physical intrusion into her personal space -- so it's not a contradiction to think both "he's just being Coyote" and "Annie wasn't a huge bitch for the spankies". (Classy "bluh bluh", by the way. I dunno about anyone else, but I'd appreciate the discussion remaining civil.)

What exactly constitutes someone being a bitch, huge or otherwise? She's not a female dog, so to be a bitch means worthy of insult. So, you're saying Annie deserves to be insulted because she spanked Coyote. Isn't that the OPPOSITE of accepting someone for who they are?

(Classy "bluh bluh", by the way. I dunno about anyone else, but I'd appreciate the discussion remaining civil.) The phrase "HUGE BITCH BLUH BLUH" is a running gag in Andrew Hussie's popular webcomic Homestuck, whose viewership seems to have a sizable overlap with Gunnerkrigg's. You can spot Homestuck references popping up in the comments section of the GC main page from time to time.
