Oh boy, yet another intro thread! This is the first forum I've been on in years... Anyway, I'll just post a little about myself:
Real Name: Jon
Nicknames: ...My name's one syllable anyway - makes nicknames kinda pointless (in my opinion, anyway).
Age: High School Sophomore
Height: I have no clue.
Gender: Male
Favorite Games: Tetris, Homeworld 2 (If you like sci-fi RTS, this is the best), World in Conflict (Really good campaign), Sins of a Solar Empire (Another sci-fi - bit of a steep learning curve, so not too good for beginners to the genre), Morrowind, Oblivion, Combat Flight Sim 3; I also play Halo 3 online under the same name (Jarathor).
Favorite Court character: Antimony. And Kat. And...
Favorite sport(s): I play Tennis; I also like soccer - never been very good.
Favorite book(s):Dune, The first three Dragonlance books, Odd Thomas Series (Great series - nothing at all like Dean Koontz's other books), Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy series, Brave New World, Beowulf, Art of War, and 1984.
Instruments: Used to play piano and viola; I am a beginner guitarist and can play saxophone.
Finally, tell us a little about yourself: I guess you could say I'm an artist - wish I was better. I've lived in several of the United States and Saudi Arabia - been to Europe several times to visit my Dad's family in Germany (I can speak a little German). I play some music, do some acting in our school. I'm involved in the Scouts. I found GC on the web, and have been hooked ever since.

Hi, the other day I was wandering around Scary Go Round and looked over and saw the link to Gunnerkigg Court and am really enjoying reading it Real name: Chris Boyer Nickname: 'Beard' (I know a lot of people named Chris and I am the only one with a beard) Age: 23 Height: a bit under 6 feet Weight: somewhat skinny Sex: male sports: a ha, ha, ha... Movies: Ed Wood, Plan 9 From Outer Space, Delicatessen, Dr. Strangelove, Les Triplettes de Belleville, Brazil, Pan's Labyrinth, The Secret of NIMH, The Wrong Trousers, Paprika, Magnolia, umm I really like movies... Music: The Decemberists, Radiohead, Rilo Kiley, The Beatles and lots of other stuff, I don't like most rap, country, metal, or pop. Games: Settlers of Catan and Carcassonne. I might get hooked on a computer game for a week or two ever other month, games I do come back to are Rome: Total War & Nethack Books: Terry Pratchett, other random stuff, books about film making. I am a part time web designer, and I hate building web pages, but it's better then fast food, whatever money I have left over after paying the bills goes into my animation projects. I've been creating stop motion movies since I was a Sophomore in high school back in 2001. My website is undergoing some changes but it has a link to my youTube where you can see my animations. I show anyone I befriend Plan 9 From Outer Space followed by Ed Wood (Tim Burton's GREATEST movie) back to back, but this does not happen often becouse I have poor social skills.

I'm the last scion of a completely forgot and probably historically non-existant Duchy that was formed out of the ruins of Outremer. Yeah. It's a fairly useless thing to be, and I'm dirt poor, so i go by Captain as it's less pretentious than Duke. I'm studying to be a theatre technician as I can't afford to study History, English or Law. I reside in the Dominion of Canada.

hey you all, my online nickname's Silvercat, or Silvertomcat. I'm not too keen on real life nicknames, so I only respond with pleasure to my real name : Meinhart (yes, that sounds exactly like "my heart" in Dutch).
Seeing that I speak Dutch, it's probably no surprise that I'm from Belgium. I'm a 27 years old guy. I guess that makes me older than most of you posters here... I wonder how "Gunnerkrigg Court" reads if you're fifteen : to me the main appeal is Antimony's reserved observational skills.
I think I'm more of a geek than a nerd : I don't play online games, I prefer classical music (check out "Dido & Aeneas" by Purcell) and I like classical literature (think Jane Austen, or read "Mama Day" by Gloria Naylor and weep with joy). I'm wild about the comics by Neil Gaiman, but I feel his solo work is off a little.
I live on my own - it's just been a year. I work in communications, which is great. I have to supervise four other people, which I don't like.
I've not been on here long, but Tom Sidell's work's already inspired me loads. I'm in love with his drawing style and writing skills. If it didn't make me sound like a mail-order bride, I'd offer to relocate *grin*
Well, that's all I have time for right now. Catch ya later, cowboys *wink*

Hi, just joined the forum, thought I should drop by and introduce myself.
My real name is Kelly if anyone's interested. I'm a 21 year old student at Exeter University about to complete a degree in History and French. I'm getting married next summer to my lovely man, so hopefully I'll be able to get a decent job after I graduate.
I live and work in a pub at the moment, spending what free time I have reading, listening to music or procrastinating. My friend pointed me to Gunnerkrigg Court and naturally I got hooked.
So that's me, hope to speak to many of you, and see you on the boards!

Welcome to Gunnerkrigg Court! well its forum at least...
Unlike other forums we cause no loss of apparal, souls, limbs or sanity. The forum is all about the comics and goings on inside.
You might want to ask Tom a question, discuss the most recent comic, or previous comic while its still on the page, maybe submit some fanart, or create a topic of your own if you think its interesting [whether anyone else will, well that depends on the topic]

Real Name: Uh...well, i do not usually give it out on the interwebs for security reasons. see, i'm an hitman. sure. Nicknames: *entry not found* Age: 18 years minus ten days! yay! Height: 1.73 meters... that is 5 feet 8 inches, according to google. Gender: male, ha! Favorite Games (board games, card games or videogames): EDIT: i just now realize here are board games too allowed. so, it adds Draughts (not bad at it!) and Reversi and Go (total newbie at this). Also, Zelda, Mario, Chrono Trigger, puzzle games like breakout, adventure games of the '90s, and some other i surely forgot to write about. Favorite Court character: I would say Annie (even if i like all the cast, they are so very goodly balanced together) 'cause the calm character is somewhat similar to mine. Minus the Psychopomps. Favorite sport(s): ....You mean the things where you get up and move around? uh...does programming in C or basic or whatever counts? Favorite movie(s): Uh...Back to the Future (I,II,III but mostly III), Terminator 1 and 2, to a lesser extent, whatever movie from the '80 and early '90 has COOL written all over for me. ah, and Robin Williams! And Angela Lansbury's "Murders she wrote", and Columbo, and Quincy, and ...yeah, i like detectives. also i add... i like Anime a lot, like Detective Conan, which is where my nick comes from. And other obscurer and older and lesser known animes i likes are Daa Daa Daa (yeah, it's a shojo, so?), Digimon (especially the first season...ahh, childhood memories!)...Ah, i also like Naruto a little, not Shippuden, the first season. Favorite book(s): ...first, i love Asimov in all forms. except films. then comes some obscure and detective drama by obscure Italian authors, Death at the Crossroads by Dale Furutani, some other obscure novels by other Italians, lots of fanfiction about my favourite games and other things (yeah, it's not a "book"...), mafia semi-fiction by obscure Sicilian author, some other things i do not remember due to the late time and general swiss cheese memory. Guess what? I'm Italian! Finally, tell us a little about yourself: uh, i'm Italian! and i'm quite a computer nerd. i like programming, i wear glasses... i'm a tad bit like Antimony, in that i'm quite and reflective, mostly. but usually i do not smile much, as a side effect, which causes my mom to say i'm... not so likable (to use an euphemism) and i'm quite prone to occasional sadness. not saying my life helps in this... to quote Tom the Great: BUT! as my defenders, i call my constant humorism AND my sarcasm. that usually makes my mom explode in laughs.

Hi, I'm Ian. Seventeen, from the US. I'm transsexual, so my real name isn't Ian and I look like a girl, but yeah, anyhow (just put it in because I'll probably make some weird remark and confuse people, and I'd rather avoid that. I think I got to this comic from Friendly Hostility, and I read a few others, but not nearly as many as some people I know. Haha. I don't know if I have a favorite character from GC, but I like Zimmy a lot. And Mr. Eglamore totally looks like my physics teacher, and I could totally imagine my teacher doing that kind of thing. It makes it kind of odd, though, like oh, Mr. Paul went and saved Annie from another evil creature. But anyhow, my physics teacher is awesome, so Mr. Eglamore is also higher up in my list of favorite characters. Ehh. x]

Sup people.
So ya, I just turned 21 a week ago. Long time reader, just found this forum.
Aspiring Manga-ka would be my closest job description. Or maybe Doujin artistst would fit the bill. I've been doing it since i was 15. I get a bit overwhelmed when i talk to professional Manga-ka's cause some of them often tell me how long it took them to get their big break. Inoue (Creator of Midori no Hibi) said it took him almost 6-7 years to hit it big. Well since i started since i was 15 there goes 6 years. Though techinically i didnt really start to persue this till 18.
I'm and Avid RPG gamer and i love anime. I suck at FPS (First person shooters) but i do enjoy playing them, If not for the simple part that i can die over and over again and respawn in 5 seconds (Currently playing Team fortress 2).
Favorite character: Reyn (as i like to call him). He instantly became my fav character when i first saw his wolf form.
Hmm i guess thats it.

Hi, struggling artist/slacker here. Discovered GC a few weeks ago and read it all in one night. It's now one of the very small list of webcomics I actually follow.
Um... that's about it. Maybe if I wasn't so slack, I'd share some art or something, but I've been in a terrible slump lately.

Hrm. I suppose I didn't really share anything, soooo...let's see... 21 years old, reside in USA, in the state of Utah. Artist and full-time job holder. I live on my own in a 1 bedroom apartment and spend most of my time drawing. You can see some of my art here: armonis.deviantart.com/And newer stuff here: smg.photobucket.com/albums/v366/Armonis/I don't post of a lot it since I can't be arsed to scan a lot of it, and most of it isn't that good.

i myself always find it hard to share work, just because it doesnt meet up to my high standards i put to myself, so to save myself, i dont show anyone by myself. Its funny when you look back at old work. I always keep my "best work" in a folder. I seperate them by year. Why a few months ago when i was cleaning my room i saw my 2002 folder "best works" and i went through it, then i wanted to stab my eyes.
I was like "i considered this good?!?! it sucks!!!" looked at precedding folders after it to be only in more shock. So i know i'm improving, But it also sucks that i relize i made the right decision not to show anyone."

Hello! Sorry, didn't see this thread for a second. Um, let's see: name: ztad school: college interests: reading, writing, drawing, music, games yeah, I'm bad at this.... oh, fave GC character? That's tough, because I pretty much like everyone, a glorious rarity. I think right now I'm getting a bit obsessed with Reynardine though, but it might switch when we learn more about coyote or the psychopomps. Ok, that's all I can manage. See you out there on the threads!

Real Name: Nobody refers to me by my real name. :P
Nicknames: Laur
Age: 16 (Finishing my sophomore year in high school, wooo)
Height: 5'6
Weight: ~145? I don't know.
Gender: Female!
Favorite Games (board games, card games or videogames): I don't play many board games, but I like Risk and Clue. Videogames-wise, I especially liked the Kingdom Hearts series, Half-Life, and Professor Layton and the Mysterious Village.
Favorite Court character: Reynardine, Robot, and Gamma.
Favorite sport(s): Ice skating and field hockey. I don't really do many sports anymore... I like watching ice hockey though.
Favorite movie(s): Clue, Airplane!, Aeon Flux (plot holes and all), Singin' in the Rain, Pan's Labyrinth (Gunnerkrigg reminds me of it sometimes...), The Neverending Story, Nightmare before Christmas, and pretty much anything by Studio Ghibli.
Favorite book(s): It's a genuine effort to keep the list abbreviated.
Friday, Stranger in a Strange Land, Starship Troopers, The Bell Jar, His Dark Materials series, Dune, Resurrection Men, Ender's Game, Anything Valdemar related, HHGG.
I read a lot of comics and manga, too. Also, anything by Ray Bradbury or Francesca Lia Block can be added to that list; I've read almost everything either of them has published.
Finally, tell us a little about yourself: I've been reading Gunnerkrigg for a few weeks, and I decided to join the forum just recently. I can play a little violin and a little piano (I'll be taking Piano next year in school) and I like to sing. I listen to a lot of eclectic music and I'm a super history nerd. I do school musicals and plays, too.
