GK Sierra I do believe zimmyzims is only giving you a hard time because of deep, unspoken, platonic love for you.

Or maybe not. And dude: totally gay. Which I'm fine with, but nevertheless. Haha, well I'm glad you're here to examine it for "gayness" line by line. However I would like to submit for contention, the idea that it is possible to have love for another human being of the same sex that does not involve wanting to jump in the sack with them.Crazy shit, I know. I think GK Sierra here makes a fine point: the idea that there's also love that isn't of ...sexual kind of nature(?) (and even it is, it can be something like, between a man and literally a flame must've been awkward.) I didn't know someone would use the word 'bromance' is used in a manner not totally unlike serious to describe their relationships, though (but it's cool!...I'd like to say 'cool' but that seems inane when I actually want to convey a feeling which I'd associate more with something warm and fuzzy. Instead, now please imagine this is a link to a cute cat video of your linking because my google-fu is too weak too find a good one.), I thought it was a ... dare I say, a tvtrope-y tongue-in-cheek shorthand for 'It's a friendship (of two persons of same sex) so close that it isn't a romance, but surely could look like a one in the eyes of someone who doesn't know better'. Bromances are typically close friendships between men that are ostensibly platonic but go beyond the typical expectations of male friendship. (Men who can talk about feelings with one another, do things together that couples might do, etc...) They are often seen in comedies. ... the typical expectations of male friendship in western culture have reached their all-time low?

Let's agree that it depends on how you read your Platon, and stop derailing this thread. Although, if you stretch the concept, the bromance-talk has served for some kind of introduction of its participants.

I am a rather fetching shade of black tonight. -Love, Kettle I did, in fact, start by introducing myself. Not my fault if the introduction inspired a spirited conversation about the nature of new idioms.

I've been needing to make a post since I want to get more involved so here goes...
Real Name: Chris Nicknames: Real Chris or just Chris. EvilTreeSock(usual online)
Age: as of this posting, 22
Height: about 5'10"
Weight: more than I want it to be
Gender: It's a Boy!!!
Favorite Games (board games, card games or videogames): Halo series, Pokemon, League of Legends, Life, Monster Hunter, Animal Crossing, the Tales series
Favorite Court character: Whoever made the best face most recently
Favorite sport(s): Hockey, soccer, American football, skiing
Favorite movie(s): Miyazaki movies, Pixar movies, October Sky, Remember the Titans, The Shawshank Redemption, Mel Brooks movies, Austin Powers, LoTR Trilogy, other things I can't think of right now
Favorite book(s): the Wicked series by Gregory Maguire, All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten by Robert Fulghum, Cancer Ward by Aleksander Solzhenitsyn, Harry Potter, Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson
Finally, tell us a little about yourself: I'm a fairly relaxed person on the outside, but I can feel rather passionately about certain things. I believe we are all entitled to our opinions so long as they don't tread all over others and that you can say what you want as long as you are prepared for any response. I just graduated from college and am a proud Blue Hen and an avid League of Legends player. I started reading Gunnerkrigg at the beginning of this last summer and I have lost count of how many times I have re-read everything.

Thanks, not crediting is an allamation to the original inventor. Not sure what allamation is, but a quick google search turned up a Steam account name. Here is the guest strip of reference questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=2516. And for those that do not read, it is another webcomic, and is not questionable at all and completely safe.

Hi! We usually don't bite. What interested you in Gunnerkrigg? I don't actually remember how I found GC originally - it's been at least a year. I have been lurking the forums until now, but thought 'hey, it's time'. I love the complex plot, the use of symbolism, and the fact that GC's "science-magic duality" is actually a proper science-mysticism duality instead of the all-too-common technology-magic duality with both sides subject to scientific tenets.

necroing.
Also did I ever introduce? I'm snipergirl, I started reading GKC around chapter 4 or 5 from a webcomic awards shortlist (GKC was nominated for best newcomer I think).
I'm a doctor, I write and I sometimes like to program. Mostly I like to have fun and read and shit but I wish I had more time on my hands!

I am also an artist, not professionally, but it always made me enjoy reading comics more others around me. I work on tech support call centre and I feed my mind with webcomics on my available time at work. I follow tons of webcomics and found this recently as one of the authors I read had a link on his/her site. I am really enjoying this comic, it's by far the best story I have ever seen. I was actually sad when I reached the latest comic yesterday and now I have to wait for updates to continue reading. This story has tons of potential for movies and stuff, in my opinion, I could totally see an MMO as a background character student in the court or something.
Looking forward to read about others who enjoy this comic as much as I do, Cheers!

Other leisure activities: ... getting people addicted to Gunnerkrigg Court (count is up to 15 now)... There should be a scoreboard for this somewhere. I think I've only got one so far, and he seems to be just as into it as I am (haven't gotten him to join the forums yet, though). A big part of why I haven't gotten more people stuck to the comic is that most of my friends were following Gunnerkrigg before I started telling everyone about it. Now that I am at college, my missionary pursuits may advance more rapidly (if I leave my room). (Let's drag up some old posts, since we're already digging up old threads!)

0, as far as I can tell.
No one cares about the things I care about whenever I try to share them. If I say to someone: "you should watch this movie/read this book", then I have the insurrance that they will never watch it/read it in all of their life.

One. I introduced my girlfriend to the comic. She doesn't like keeping up with each update tho, so she has me tell her when the latest chapter is finished so she can read it all in one go.

Unsure. My general tactic is a link to a specific page I like on facebook. Not sure how effective that is.
