I dare the fandom not to make a shipping-related comment for an entire page.
You will be as awesome as robox if you succeed.

All I can think of is a taunt-line from Age of Empires II, "Quit touching me!"

Therefore, loss. On your part.

And here we have Annie's little seen "What the hell do I do now?" face.
It might look exactly like her default setting, but trust me, this is it.

I think it's basically her "Oh gawd, I'm going to have to let him down gently... or not" face.

By posting "no one make shipping comments," you made a shipping comment. Therefore, loss. On your part. Eh, not so bad. I've always been terrible, so that's par for the course. Seriously, though, it'd be hilarious if Wednesday's comic ends up with Annie shooting Jack down or something. Reactions to something like that happening would be entertaining.

I dunno, it looks more like she wants to say something, but is working up to it. Though that's not mutually exclusive with your idea. This was my take on it. This meeting seems to have been pre-arranged, and Tom's comment implies that there have been others preceding this one as well. So Jack's coming on to Annie isn't out of the blue. But man, Annie is awkward in simple social situations like the camping trip. I can't even imagine how cringe inducing this will get.

It's entirely possible that this is actually a date and Annie's just a little unsure how to act - and/or still upset by the Reynardine revelation.

I am reminded of Jeph Jacques' comment below the following strip of Questionable Content: questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=762This is not a shipping comment. It is a mere link to a reference to a meta-shipping comment.

This chapter is quite diverse, for being just about people talking.

Let me register just to say: Awkwaaard! And also this: Notmyboyfriend is pretty cool, huh?
Also I do have my parallel-with-Surma-scene sense tingling. But if that were true it would be super awful ; <

But if that were true it would be super awful ; < It looks like I'm not the only one who expects that. We're going to get Annie's approach to suitors so we can compare it to Surma's. At least, that's where this seems to be headed.

Keep those hands to yourself, young man. And the other one.
*snort* No, really, guys, all I'm getting out of that expression is a flat, "What."
It could pretty much cover any number of underlying mental states, and it very much remains to be seen how our young lady will rise (or fall) to this unprecedented social occasion.
I must say, though, I'm looking forward to further developments on Wednesday. One way or another, this is guaranteed to bring the lulz.
(Also, good gracious, normal!Jack. I had been wondering which of the personality traits we were briefly shown before you were spider-ed would hold true in this first post-spidering appearance. It would seem that the chief one so far is in fact "flirt", of all things. (Oh, aye?) The spider may have been puppeting you through most of those behaviors, but evidently this one cannot be chalked up to etheric interference. Haha...)

The situation every teenager has been in: understanding body language of the opposite gender. I love the realism here, despite that is comic is a work of fiction (With different names and referring to a broken foot, I swear I have had every aspect of this conversation.)

I'm guessing Annie might be curious about it all. She doesn't really "get romance" - has no natural drive to get involved with that sort of thing, but with everyone talking about and Parley and Smitty getting on so well, she might play along with Jack to see what all the fuss is about.
Or she's going to brush him off and she'll give some explanation for why she doesn't like the romance. Which must be something she got from her mother, which might tie it in with the beginning of the chapter. But that would be a very quick resolution for Mr. Siddell.
Intresting to hear that Jack's thinks he's been made cleverer. Considering he was already bypassing the court's security systems fairly easily, I wonder what he can do now?

My first impression was that Annie is thinking that she doesn't deserve Jack's gratitude (considering what she said to Jones after that bit of power plant drama) Intresting to hear that Jack's thinks he's been made cleverer. Considering he was already bypassing the court's security systems fairly easily, I wonder what he can do now? Well, that was a pretty lame security system.
