I assumed that the probability of teleporting to a new location and accidentally merge with an existing object is rather likely. Smitty probably helps prevent Parley from becoming part desk, part girl, or worse yet, atoms vying for the same space at the same time...

Also, that appears to be a brush in her hand, rather than a pen. Calligraphy? It looks more like a fountain or other nib pen to me. Probably a fountain pen, as she's just been working, and it doesn't appear to have been dipped in ink. Either way, Jones does not appear to be a fan of ballpoints.

While this page is hilarious, I think the most fun comes of imagining the rest of the staff's reactions as Jones goes around wearing her party hat for the rest of the day. I suspect nothing Jones does surprises them anymore. ;D

The light on Jones' desk is oddly placed. That sort of light is normally set to illuminate the desk very well, but not shine in a person's face (hence why it's on such a short stand). She's apparently using it for general room lighting, and it isn't doing a very good job - plus it shines right in her eyes every time she lifts her head, so it is not serving its intended function well either. Are the books, pencil, etc. on a table, or on a bed? And why does she have a small oil-drum on the table in front of the window? (Side note about distorting probability: there is an extra card in the air. Finish the current suit, run off one more, add two jokers... and there's a card left.)

Today I was in a meeting trying to explain that we need to do more research on a project to avoid surprises. I finished my argument saying: "...because before you know it, you are wearing a party hat wondering where the heck it came from."
It worked amazingly well, so I encourage you all to throw it into conversation whenever you can.

Does anyone else find the room a bit sad/scary?
It looks lived in and well used, but doesn't seem to match Jones. Everything looks nice, but old fashioned. It looks like someone lived there once, but left suddenly. The room and its contents have faded into a lifeless grey over time.
Is this someone else's room and Jones just left it alone when she took it over, or did something happen to Jones?
