Or on a convenient stool. Or they could sit down. Or lie on her be-*gets thumped by the Family Friendliness Duck* Or Parley could lift him up every time.

Kissing on the mouth, in my Gunnerkrigg Court???
Wait, I already said that some pages ago.
So, hm, hooray?

Lucky girl. There's no stout, bespectacled Spaniard lurking in the windows, plotting her eternal torment.

Four things that occurred to me, in chronological order.
1.) ;D (I don't squeee, thank you very much, but I did have a big happy grin and danced in my chair a bit. ;D)
2.) I wonder if anyone is watching through those windows in the background?
3.) I bet Parley's friends are wondering what happened to her...
4.) Wait, what am I thinking about?! Smitty and Parley are kissing! ;D

I wonder if they will go from being that couple that Annie can't because they won't admit their love to being that couple that Annie can't stand because they are all over each other 24/7. Not that they weren't already all over each other 24/7 before the awkwardness.

Say it with me, "DAWWWWWWW"
Way to go you two, hope it lasts.
And I hope for both your sakes you didn't have a "Friend" who you lead around and gave the slightest insignificant minute delusion that a relationship could be possible. Especially one who is into robots, other than Kat for obvious reasons.

You know, something that should be mentioned as well about this page (someone said it about the previous page too) is that these kind of scenes are not easy to draw and really come across as genuine and really convey the emotion... and once again, Tom did a gorgeous job of it! I'm really impressed, he is just so good...

I have a feeling Smitty's power to make everything "fall into place perfectly" will come in handy when trying to avoid awkward kisses (as is what probably happened here with the stairs :3).
Although, maybe the fact that boys grow taller then girls later on might fix their height difference in the future :O

I know everybody is focused on the kiss, but there's a little bit of graffiti on the stairs in that same panel that I'm more interested in. What does SB stand for?

I once dated a girl significantly shorter than me. It wasn't that awkward. The breakup was, but not for height-related reasons. +1 On the other hand, yay! Also, lovecraft, I think she's not clueless about kissing. I think she's just being oblivious to what just happened (Andrew and George finally getting together). A friend and I were discussing this and we decided she's probably still in shock from the whole Jeanne bit.

I didn't see that before. Looks like S<arrow>B though. Kind of like those hearts that have <Guy+Girl forever> in them. I would guess some other couple scratched that in once. Had we seen a S/B before that we didn't understand for lack of meeting the characters yet? I can't remember...

Smitty's younger than Parley, he's got time to catch up with her height-wise. It will be a weird moment when they realise Parley doesn't have to bend down any more.
What a wonderful page. I'm glad Tom used the full-length shot, it wouldn't have worked nearly as well otherwise.

Not that they weren't already all over each other 24/7 before the awkwardness. Parley was all over Andrew, but Andrew didn't really return it. Had we seen a S/B before that we didn't understand for lack of meeting the characters yet? I can't remember... Yeah, Page 335, Panel 4. Edit: Also, bottom left-hand corner of 364. It's kinda hard to read online, but in the book edition it seems to say something like "Spinach + Bownhand"

So the only way they can kiss is by standing on stairs? They could lie down.

A friend and I were discussing this and we decided she's probably still in shock from the whole Jeanne bit. Or that she's simply so focused on the big problems (or arcs) at the Court that she's all but oblivious to the smaller stories - that she responds to this one the way she does because it's one of the "side-stories", not because it involves romance.

I guess the shippers among us have a wonderful day today. I'm not sure why, since this relationships makes sense. There's no love-triangle between characters that have never interacted romantically, nor any far-fetched situations coming true despite all evidence to the contrary. What kind of shipper is interested in that?! >

It'd be amusing if the one that gets the growth spurt of that pair... is Parley. They'd be a comical and adorable couple, and her extra height and sword skills might make her a good successor to Eglamore.

Sb is the symbol for the element antimony on the periodic table. Yeah, but that doesn't explain the "Spinach + Bownhand" quote.

in the book edition it seems to say something like "Spinach + Bownhand" Spinach is obviously a nickname for our green-skinned forest elf guy! and Bownhand can only be Steadman! I know, that doesn't make any sense at all, I'm just trying to be funny...

Can't look at Kat's face without snickering. I wonder if they will go from being that couple that Annie can't because they won't admit their love to being that couple that Annie can't stand because they are all over each other 24/7. But they were all over each other (okay, Parley was all over Smitty, but the result was much the same - he just didn't need to), just won't admit things painfully obvious to everyone. That was the whole point, wasn't it?.. Annie's expression... is she completely clueless about kissing? I mean, presumably she just experienced Jeanne's romantic flashback and knows what a kiss is... Why does she look so shocked? Gotta love Annie's expression, though. She still doesn't get it. Maybe it's not them, but unexpected Kat Dozer? ;D

I know, that doesn't make any sense at all, I'm just trying to be funny... Steadman didn't actually care about the plan at all. He just went along with it because he was envious of all the attention Jeanne was getting from Greenguy. He killed Greenguy in a jealous rage, and let Jeanne suffer half-dead on the shore as a punishment for getting in the way of their manly love.
